Community Concerns Being Addressed

This is inresponse to the thread titled " Gamez Staff Relationship with Clients"

After reading through all the posts and taking notes about the concerns you all have. I've decided to address them all. ( Let me know if I miss one.)

Now on to the concerns.

1. AMs/GMs Playing Favoritism
Not every AM/GM plays favoritism and if we do, its definitely not ment to be done to offensively. If you notice it, Please feel free to confront that AM/GM about it via PM. If that doesn't help, then please contact an Admin.

2. Online In-Game Support Is Zero
As most of the GMs live in different time zones, either have school, work or family to tend to, doesn't entirely mean the support in game is completely a zero. Your probably missing them at the time you sign on. Please don't hesitate to contact someone on forums if you come across a bug abuser/speedhacker etc. We've got a report section for a reason, please make use it and if you have proof include it as well.

3. Hiring More AMs
Karissa does all the hiring of AMs as well as I've been noticing Carl is too. So you'd need to bring that up with her if you feel there just isnt enough AMs.

4. Bugs/Other In-Game Problems
Alente is pretty much the only person who is fixing most of the bugs and addressing them as best he can. We as GMs cannot do anything but make a note of the bug. So bare with us if the bug doesn't get fixed next update as it could be a script problem or some sort of conflict making it not work properly.

5. GM'n A Private Server Is Our Job
This is not a job as we do not get paid to do this job. So our time spent online game or on forums is merely voluntary and limited as things in real life to come up keeping us from spending large amounts of time in front of the PC.

6. How The Staff Gets Hired
Since Karissa does the hiring of the staff, she doesn't ONLY look at how much knowledge of the game they've got but she also looks at how well they get along with the community and how helpful they are with the community. So not all of us got hired based on game knowledge. I'm one to admit that I didn't get hired off game knowledge but got noticed in how helpful and friendly I was with the community.

7. Clarifying the Hotspam Section
Some of you mentioned that if a thread is in hot spam means you can and should be able to spam in it as well as it shouldn't be closed. Rules still apply to the hotspam section with a great exception. Spamming inside a thread is still spamming inside a thread regardless of its location on the forum.

8. Alente Not Answering PM/Whispers
He is a busy person fixing bugs and trying the best he can to answer everyone. Remember he is one person who is trying to answer ALL of you. If he doesn't answer you right off the get-go then keep trying or ask someone else. I am part of the staff and I have problems getting him to answer most of the time. So it's not just you, its everyone in general.

9. GMs Shouldn't Play Normal Characters
Unless we are abusing the rules, playing on normal characters is okay. We, like everyone else, started off as normal players playing this game before becoming part of the staff. It's like getting hired at sprint store and being told you can't use your sprint phone even though you have been using it for awhile. It doesn't sound right and more along the lines of being a double standard.

10. "Everyone hacks, even GMs"
If a GM is hacking on there normal character, or on their GM character, feel free to report it but make sure the evidence is valid before you decide to post it cause then your just wasting thread space and making false accusations. If you need a second opinion, feel free to PM a GM and ask questions.

I cant even believe the massive cover up/lies in this post.

I dont know where to begin, nor do i have the time right now to write it all out knowing it wont make a difference either way.

I will say this, bella, you're one of us. never lose that. keep on believing.

 

I am not trying to cover anything up. I just don't take sides so when making this I was trying to not do that. If it sounded as if i was, I am sorry as I was not trying to get that kind reaction.

then you are incredibly naive. im pretty sure you know how favoritism works. aka being ignored > other people. and if im correct, you know exactly how that feels.

 

We need more dev's. Alente is on his own and some days i doubt he's even working on anything. Another active dev or two would be quite nice to consistently fix bugs, not updates every couple weeks, but consistent fixes.

 

I hate to point this out but I'm not a dev... period.

I make no claims to being a coder, I simply enjoy tweaking things. The fact that said tweaks happen to sometimes cough out fixes is merely coincidence.

 

I do know how favoritism is and being someone who notices it, and has mentioned it once before just not publicly, I refuse to go that route. Hence why I try the best I can to answer everyone as best as I can. I did not want to play selfish and fully address it towards myself as I cannot speak for every one of these staff members.

 

This is why I don't like private servers much when it comes to favoritism. And on Gamez, there's alot of it here. Glad I'm not the only one who see's this as well.

 

Developer, co-dev, admin, coder, all of the above..

aka you notice the favoritism yet decided not to mention it because it would make it seem like you're against your own kind.

if thats not a cover up then i dont know what is.

i understand you cant call anyone out as you probably value your title here as a gm, but you have every right to address factual issues if you so choose. which you choose to cover up instead.

I have no favoritism for anyone on this server, break the rules and you will be punished.
I even punish my own legion members for bug abusing.

I see no need in it.

That's because you're all alone in Lumiel, with no chance but to do your job 100% fair. Unlike the 50 GM's in siel that hang out in the middle of sanctum, doing certain things to become even more popular.
