Some people feel good calling us GMs out , claiming we're doing a bad job. The sad truth is, no matter how good we are people will always be unsatisfied and demand more. You meet someone's expectations once, then they raise their expectations. This continues until the inevitable failure.

Is this failure simply an inability to meet increased demand? Or is it a break down of the system?

Truly, it is both, but mostly the former rather than the latter.

Our biggest critics are those who are bitter; we represent something to them which they hate: the unobtainable.

The rest of our detractors? People who haven't been satisfied--for whatever reason--and feel the need to voice their feelings about it.

You cannot make everyone happy. This is a painful truth of life, a truth many of us learn early. Some people are naive enough to forever try to please everyone. These people are nurturers and idealists. The rest of us realize that only some people can be made happy only some of the time.

What then, are we to do? Attempt to give everyone everything they want and fail completely, and miserably across the board? Or do we focus on doing what we can to the best of our abilities?

Sometimes, even the people we help, those who we have given our undivided attention and effort to detract from us.

For me, I will continue to do what I feel is right... and people may choose to hate, or appreciate me. That is why I joined.
