M.R. has no cap, but honestly without buffs (sorc, templar) to raise it, or without severe set bonuses (chain (miragent, abg, and I believe even enraged masatarius) then you won't get much more than 1.8k M.R. and the WORST MA that you'll come across normally is approximately 1.3k... so 50% chance to resist that and you're sacrificing 100% of your manastone slots just to get that 50% resist rate...


against 3 dead classes in aion -.- (sm, sorc, cleric).

So GG to that o.o

(btw M.R. works in a way that 10 = 1% chance to resist...

say I have 1,950 ma and you have 2000 mr... you have a 5% chance to resist my attacks).

Parry and block have no "cap" either in the sense you can stack it and stack it and then in the end its your stat - the opponents accuracy for those two stats and then for every 10 higher you get 1% more chance to parry/block them...

but in that sense there is a cap of 40% block rate and then 50% parry rate... so basically you'll have same chance to block whether you have 700 more block or 400 more block.

 

All is nice, but You're wrong in one statement... a sorc with full MR can easily reach 2k MR And with MR a sorc can resist any sleep arrow and much more... so MR is quite useful.....

I mentioned that classes like sorcerers and templars get +m.r. buffs (aether armor for templars as example).

Using even just a full elders cloth set on my sorcerer stacked with MR stones gives me ~1.8k m.r. on my sorc.

Throwing up that buff adds up more, so you are right when you say easily get 2k m.r.

Indeed... I suppose m.r. is useful in that fashion, but I wouldn't particularily suggest a person to live and die by it as a good ranger will be able to burst down a person stacking it with their multiple stuns, gladiators are basically unaffected, templars are iffy... lowering your own damage and hp in order to resist their few stuns isn't too bad i suppose, chanters will be a pita and ehh.... the build just isn't for me personally.

 

A friend of mine with full mastarius set and full MR has the value of 1980ish... and thats without any buffs.... Resisting the sleep arrow and "some" stuns as you may call it is VITAL for sorc.... and what about damage.... I can tell you that now there is a cap on MB 2500.... so Full MB is not an option too

 

Agreed... I am left to rethink my entire build after this last patch :S

M.R. is up there on the "very likely to happen" list lol. Since supplication of focus basically covers any M.A. requirements and HP is useless here.

 

Yup... most of us are left rethinking their builds.... I still don't know what manastones to use on my sorc....

MR mostly works against sorc spells now, stun/knockdown resistance is significantly lowered. Before it was way too OPed. I myself, being a chanter, tried dueling ppl yesterday with ful MR set, mostly tested with other chanters and i got pwnd hard time. MR didnt work for shi.t, for either stuns or knockdown. Seems like best thing to do atm is to go back to atk/crit build, until something comes in the future.

 

lol youve got some narrow minded brain dude..
actually chanters is made to support and do some little of pvp..
you are just thinking of chanters in pvp.. how about raiding in groups? and think about this.. pro chanter use items that can support their selves.. so they will sacrifice some factors in pvping.. so pro chanter will go with MR or some other manastones that they can use to lengthen their durability in battles..
how can a chanter support some other class if they cant even support their selves right?
