<.< It can be discussed... Personally I'd go with HP n Atk since chanters already do low dmg and going for crit will just well keep that dmg low and making most rely on crits...

HP + Parry is one way of keeping you alive.
M.Res tho I honestly don't know... Not worth it if you ask me since you got Curtain of Aether for example... And Critical well if you're going for Crit you'd do best going with Crit + Atk... You'll most likely die fast but meh up to what you prefer.

elshagan chanter mostly relay on crits ... more crits = more dmg = higher chance to knockdown enemy ...
what curtin of aether have to do with mres? it just create shild that block 60% of recived dmg not mentioning 10min CD, imo not worth of stimga slot , chanter have similar skill aetheric field ...

basicly u have to decide what is ur playstyle and what stigma build u go
i tryed few manastones builds for chanter and i enjoyed every one of them
first i went crit+att , its fine but as elhagan mentioned chanter have low dmg from the begining and u dont have much hp
then i went crit+parry and i finded that build very playable , in comparesent to crit+att dmg u make isnt much lowered but u parry more and u have good skills after parrying attacks.in this build Focused parry shines xD
hp+parry is ok but better is hybrid hp+parry+crit. reach soft crit cap then parry and rest hp.
crit+mres is also fine couse u resist roots ,debuffs etc , but have low hp so have to be very carefull.
Every build have its advanages and defects but u can easly change manastones i try every one and then decide what build u go ;)

    Please enlighten me..what is parry?
How does it differ for other attacks?
I've noticed that we chanters are experts on parrying (as i've noticed mostly of our buffs and items have parry on them) so that's why i voted on parry.

Parry reduce dmg recived and after succesfull parry u can use additional skill like Parrying Strike , Confident Defense , Splash Swing(stigma skill).

as soon as you hit your crit at 540 w/o the mantras.. id suggest go for full attack.
chanters on raids will not mostly go for the kill right away but to make their party highly hard to kill wth its matras, group buffs (attack and def) and some healing.

being a chanter is mainly as a 2nd support next to a cleric., chanter controls the flow of co-parties survival and its stunlock can also help you support your healer and low def but high dmg co party mates.

if on 1 on 1, chanters can stun lock (at times / sometimes) but why go alone? chanters fight better in groups.
