I'd get a macbook pro/air for work. They can game pretty well with bootcamp as well.

I haven't heard of anyone having issues with newest macbooks o_o, other than with i7 core processor its battery life isn't awesome (which lets face it, apple has the best battery life compared to all others xD!)

    It shouldnt lag at all...

    Example video:

Added: This is an old MBP, without core i5/i7 processors or the upgrades. This video is from October 2009.

I use a MSi GT628, runs pretty good with max settings.
    (T9800, gts160m, 4gb ram + laptop cooler)
MSi got some nice computers, maybe not the best built once, but good value.

Oh dear my post didn't send Grrr!

What I think though is that the MBP is definately a great gaming machine as well as an awesome utility for work and mobility.

With the alienware laptops honestly they are excessively heavy, stand out like a sore thumb and their battery is devoured within minutes (cant even use full power when on the fly). In order to make use of an alienware on the fly you'd be forced to carry extra battery packs and / or battery slit or whatever they are calling them now lols. D:

    FOR MPB THOUGH:

-DO NOT buy SSD or ram from them! PERIOD!

Do research into SSD as they come in various qualities and in various prices... a far cry less than the premium apple is asking for through!

1.) SSD is probably the best purchase you can make if you buy wisely as for everything you do the computer refers to the harddrive (or in this case SSD) and harddrives are well known to degrade over time and cause excess friction as they spin (7,200 rpm is a lot of spinning!) as well as the memory recall on a SSD is excessively faster if you get the right one.

This is useful as in any gaming you know you have a client you downloaded... and to play it you know that the game accesses the renders stored within your harddrive and presnts them in game.. the faster and more reliable it can present them the faster your gaming will be.

2.) More ram is always nice, I know I love multitasking like a fool... and so I'd purchase some solid ram sticks from a reliable distributor and insert them myself. I honestly think apple charging the premium they are... is dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumbbbbbbb.

And overall the trackpad is amazing... and they are really good on heat dispursion and their battery life is top of the market... I have yet to see apples battery life be beaten.

Also the OSX is a great operating system in my opinion, and bootcamp is great for installing whatever you want and switching around your laptop to whatever you desire... and lets be honest... nothing can beat that sexy unibody build <3 rrmph <3 OH and its backlit keys are cute :p

On Alienware, you're mostly paying for the brand than the specs.
