Hi so does anyone know how to remove this virus. And I dont want to reformat the whole Hdrive, coz my important personal files are there and my only aion client copy. The copy at the internet cafe near us got deleted due to that virus. Tried kaspersky already. It didnt work.

personally i think spybot search & destroy would take care of it, use it to fix other peoples PCs and it solves things most of the times

also have good experience with housecall, its a standalone app that requires no instalation, just downloads its components, does a quick scan (5 mins max) of all running processes, fixes stuff and removes itself :p

system restore doesnt really help coz it doesnt remove the infected files, just things that have been INSTALLED, not things that have been COPIED :p u also end up with a screwed up registry and recently installed programs might not work ^^

there r 100s of thousands of types of viruses :p as u just said, u dont even know what virus he has so dont go and straight up tell him to format lol. he hasnt even tried anything yet.

besides, it doesnt sound like u know much about viruses to begin with. should always try to fix it first and only then format (if its really necessary, in most cases its not)

NOD32 used to be better :p and used to be free xD dont wanna pay or bother with cracked copies, have other tools to fix problems if i have any :p

---------- Post added at 03:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:56 PM ----------

a lot r i agree :p but as we already said, there r other tools to fix it xD tbh i use avast as an antivirus mainly to get the "warning" and then other things to do the actual fixing. when it tells me to delete stuff in my windows folder i dont really agree >.> lol

There's also another prob, Our Internet connection at home is crap, coz ISP having tech probs. Is it possible to install NOD32 just by plugging my HDD in a Desktop(freshly format, no viruses) and download and install. I'm not really techie and know much about desktops. I'll tell my brother to use NOD32 and that other app you suggested. I'll keep myself posted to this thread until I fixed it.

    Try using malwarebytes..

to use it correctly, download it, update it, restart the computer in safemode, then once in safemode run a scan, once its complete you should be okay. Make sure to use Spybot to immunize your computer from incoming issues and other virus programs such as clamwin to deal with viruses.

    All freeware :]
