About the events

Yet another wall of text from me, forgive me pl0x xD

I will start by saying that Ima happy we got at last one seperate section for the suggestions but we lack of the Event section where all hosted events should belong.

I have been chatting with people about the events and most of them mentioned one major problem: They haven't ever take part in events because they cannot PM the GMs in time or the time when the events are hosted do not match with the time they are online.

Another problem I think we had in Gamez was the lack of creativity when it has to do with events. GMs used to recycle the old events over and over. Fortunatly we got some new and comepletly fresh events coming and I hope all can enjoy them.

So, these put me in thoughts about how could these problems be solved. Have been thinking for a while nao that it's good to offer the chance to all in Gamez to take part in any event but couldn't find a solid solution though.

Well, after some hours of serious thinking I came to a conclution that might be the possible solution :sideways:

The key about the events is the good timing, the proper organization. In forums we got the Calendar which we could use for events as well.

Why do I mention this? Well because it's the easiest way to keep things well organized. People will have the acknowledge of when each event takes place and they will be able to fix their schedule in order to take part in the events they like.

Also GMs won't be stressed to buy some time and do the event. They won't have a chaotic GMing day, coz they will be able to host the event in invisible mod (-to avoid getting spammed by PMs-) and then help players by answering questions, banning etc.

So, we are gonna have many new events but the qustion here is when are they gonna be hosted and how fair (-based on how many people will stand the same chance to join it-) are they gonna be.

I suggest to divide events into three(-3-) categories: Daily, Weekly and Monthly


Daily events: could be done by GMs once for each timezone

Weekly events: could be done each one on seperate day. Mostly massive and creative events with better prizes than the Daily ones.

Monthly event(s): could be done once per month only. Prizes are gonna be the best that's why it will be so rare event

~As for the organization part of these events that will give the chance to all players to take part in...


Daily events: could be based on the old well known system of registration: "PM me at this moment in order to participate in the event". But GMs should always announce about the events like 5~10min before.


Weekly events: GMs will make a thread where they will describe the events, its rules, prizes etc.. They will arrange a date when players will be able to register for the events. This is gonna be based on the use of the forum in order to offer the opportunity to all to participate in the events everyone likes =)

~Example: Let's say there will be a Guild Vs Guild event on Monday. GMs will announce that the resistration will start on Saturday(-because if there won't be enough entries from one race they can always reopen the registration only for one race to fill up the needed number-) at xx:xx time GMT (-or watever timezone-) and will end at yy:yy time.
People will have to post their IGN and their RACE. Registration could last like 30mins or half day. Depends of how many people are allowed to take part in.

Monthly event(s): As like the weekly events, this one is gonna be based on forum registration rules of course it will depend on what kind event is gonna be hosted.

As you can see, my idea is to make the forum & the calendar used for more important/ creative things than just plaint spamming and drama. People will respect GMs more because events will be more fair and organized.

I have an idea for an event, that involves pvp, and dyes, just waiting for alentes approval..

 

If I ever need an essay written that I dont feel like writing my self, I know who to contact.

 

I would just like to see some more large scale events, its quite disappointing to hear about an event only to find out that its yet another tournament, or a small 6v6 or 12v12 event

 

On a serious note, I do find my self disappointed in these small scale events with 200mil prizes, personally thats not enough kinah to buy much these days, and the people who really need the kinah dont ever manage to get into the events anyways(Let alone win), so you're really just handing pennies to the rich.

A more unique variety of prizes would be nice, something other than kinah x.x

You are a very persuasive man xD.
Your ideas for events are awesome and from now on I wil try to use the Calendar to tell people when I will be doing events.

Also about the forum sign up. This could be an issue for when players sign up, they mighten even show up online at the time of the event. Maybe this could be fixed making a list of back-ups.

Daily/Weekly/Monthly - Again, this is another great idea which will get players to look forward to. I will work with other GM's and Admin to see what we can do with this suggestion.

I will make a thread soon of the list of times that I will hold events(and other GM's can add their times too). This thread could also be a place were to suggest any events that you and other players would like to have. We will then see if it is possible to do the event. And who knows, we might being doing it in the next week xD.(Because we do need to get Alente's approval first).

Also with the events I had a few complaints with the lack of prizes that get handed out with events. I will also discuss this with other GM's/Senion GM's/Alente to see of we could figure out other possible rewards other than Kinah.

Here is my opinion. We need Gms from differences time zones not only For events but Hackers and reports. For instance, Portugal, i am portugese, we donot have any gm that has Portugal timezone, you say ''We have a brazilian'', well timezone from Portugal and Brasil are way diferent and so they can be online. If any gm's here read this please chose a Gm from my countr, Portugal, because we cant take this anymore, and believe this, we are not the only ones on this server, besides Brs, Pinoys, we are a big number here. there needs to be a lot better organization with events and the gms. There should be an event ok'd list of prizes that the gm's should have on hand b4 creating an event, so the winning team/side can receive instantly.
Im not sure how well organized some of the gm's are. but there is alot of people still waiting for rewards from events from almost 3 weeks ago.
people not getting the rewards in a reasonably timely fashion will prevent people from wanting to do events.

3v3 on march 4th or 5th nothing received for several people from the event
r vs. r march 11th still nothing
its march 22nd now

A few things to let you know whats going on on our end. I'm a gm in crystal but both servers command structure works the same. regular gms can not spawn prizes only sam+ that might be the reason your not getting them right away. If it takes more than 5 days pm a gm in game and ask them about them. Even if they can not spawn the prizes to mail out they might be able to contact someone that can especially if its 2-3 weeks.

As far as new events for weekly/monthly being done... The events we do is what we are allowed to do. We can do others if we get permission. Therefore if you want new events post some in the suggestion section (They must be well thought through) (rules, prizes, description step by step(so we know exactly what your thinking of and how you want the event to go)) If others agree with your event and the staff likes the idea it will be submitted for approval. *Remember we can not give out prizes such as abg and special items/weapons/equips*
