Depends. Did he want to play or did you convince him to play. If you were egging him on just to get the money then you kind of did a bad thing even though on the other hand. However if someone decides to get drunk and be a deusch and be the CHALLENGER to a game like that and bet money, especially if you at first say No but they keep insisting, then I think its a good time for them to learn a valuable life lesson

If the moron is dumb enough to get that drunk they should have their arse ripped open.

They could have easily made the decision to not drink whilst not drunk, they weren't mentally retarded quite yet... then again if you are as cynical as me then you could easily assume that there really wasn't much there to begin with.

So: No, its completely fair to pwn them and make them regret their life. :3

Well so long as you didn't ask or trick him to bet any money down then I see no problem with it. He can learn a valuable life lesson.

You have to admit though. When you get drunk, you're doing so willingly. So the consequences are yours to take. I don't see why anyone that willingly gets drunk, and willingly, under the influence of alcohol maybe, should be spared of whatever they get themselves into. Unless it's something grave... Woop his ass.

Teaches you for next time to leave the drinks for at home, rather then playing the big balls.

And when drunk you're still a big boy/girl and are responisible for your own decisions. I've been completely s*** face wasted before and still knew what was good and bad for me. It's all a matter of self control and it seems like this friend lacked that and so he failed

Well, it's up to you if you will spare the drunk guy or not. For me, this in not an option but how I am. I don't like to abuse people when they do not realize 100% all possible results of their actions.

I dunno... I have strict limits on how far my kindness goes. I have nothing but kindness if someone is taken advantage of normally... but when a person takes a psychoactive drug (that is exactly what many of alcohol's great-many pitfalls is) which is actually terrifyingly well known for causing loss of coherant thinking (the funny thing is people drunk out of their mind usually say they are fine because they are just that incoherant at the time), coordination, and etc... it's almost hilarious. Being slightly drunk I'll admit actually is a stimulant, but alcohol in the quanitity most people drink it in is actually a severe form of a depressant and has many greatly damaging impacts onto the nervous system (which is what I primarilly focus in on).

    Some stats:
Around 100million americans (significantly more actually) have consumed alcohol within the last month, approximately 15 million of these are heavy-users and this trickles down to resulting in a large volume of deaths ~100,000 a year.

What I meant above by a depressant is that alcohol actually can stimulate and assist in neural firing (which can be highly negative looking at the consequences of highly active neural patterns in some clinical diseases outlined by DSM IV (most current version).) But in the amounts that people normally drink it at it actually becomes a depressant and greaaaatly hampers the ability of neurons to even fire (let alone regulate their own functions such as formations of vesicles and transport down the neuron cell via microtubule systems) a great example being the fact that most neurons (some exceptions, like anything) require the uptake of calcium into the presynaptic membrane the alcohol shifts the membrane and makes calcium diffusion difficult. Considering how calcium is required to be taken in by the neuron to fire... this is quite problematic.. And it causes GABA receptors (gabanergic) to be impaired, causes damage to the bodys ability to make use of thiamine, triggers apoptosis (cell suicide) <--- BIG TIME BAD considering how integral neurons are and how difficult they are to repair/replace (though I have personally done some research into adult neurogenesis, you will never be able to get even 10% of what you lose back), and second mesengers within the cell are also smashed.

Also, alcohol is actually quiote addictive along with heritability estimates of alcohol addition at 55% found by recent studies. In essence, it is also cleaner. I remember quite vividly cleaning my lab bench with ethanol (alcohol), in essence what you are doing is you are "cleaning" your body.

And no, humans are comprised of a large number of cellular components which are just as vulnerable to that "cleaner" as that bacteria I nuked.

In terms of more neurological aspects, if blood levels reach around 0.5% (regardless of size, mass, etc... it is a percentage value) there is a fair amount of risk that your respiratory system will malfunction due to the nervous system which controls it (the respiratory system is controlled by many different muscles, and there is a wackload of disorders related to any impairments to the organization and timing of the systems) being hampered by alcohol. So death via respiratory depression, for the win?

Also now that I said that I'm going to have to explain this because i know I'm going to have dick-wad come back at me and splatter "BUT I AM IMMUNE TO EETTTT". I'm studying to be a neurologist, I'm pretty sure I can tell you that you may want to pay attention to what I say here... its good free advice:

    Tolerance:

Drug tolerance comes in soo many forms that I won't bore you with the terrifyingly specific cases. But relevant to alcohol especially are these ones:

-Drug tolerance is something that people would say is decreased senstivity to the drug, thus they need to take more to get their "high" off of it. Or to make it "work". Whatevr you wanna say... "get pissed/smashed/****edddduuuuuupe". But there are beautiful things to drug tolerance that make this seem really "lawl" to me.

#1: First off is cross tolerance (which is relevant, because many medications work through similar pathways as alcohol does/ does not yet still impacts this way) where one drug that you take will reduce the effects of all other similar drugs. Likewise (this isn't going to be accurate as I haven't put too much time into this in specifics) if you had severe pain and you couldn't get the benifits off of your codene you were given to handle it (commonly prescribed opiate drug (opium poppy)) because you caused cross-tolerance due to drinking... sorry but you're ****ed and you need to probably pump up a teir (taking more actually can be bad, at least for codene there was someone 'famous' who got busted for codene abuse.)

    #2: Drug tolerance possibly can build up to some of the effects of the drug, but definately not all. Often times you will see someone who actually builds up a tolerance to the nauseous effects of alcohol and they actually have significantly increased susceptability and sensitization to many of the negative effects of it. -but as most people think "If I can't feel it or see it, it doesn't exist". Ahh, the wonders of the somatic nervous system... one must wonder why people are so lacking in comprehension ._.;
*Side note: This is very commonly seen in smokers too. Build up resistance to cough and they actually become more sensitive to the effects of nicotine on their brain.

#3: Drug tolerance is not a phenomenon which acts in a single way. It acts in two ways primarily:
-Firstly (and this isn't in any order... you can have #1 or #2... #1 AND #2 or just #2... whatever you get the point) it can do something called functional tolerance in which the drug CAN BIND to the nervous system and the nervous system in response purposefully decreases the effect it has on the neuron. Therefore making it so you need to take more and more in order to get that "high".

-Secondly (no order, as I said above) it can do something called metabolic tolerance in which the body actually limits the amount of the drug getting to the nervous system... simple as that. Stops production, inhibits binding sites, self destruction of vesicles... etc.

Though I will add that the livers of alcoholics do metabolize the alcohol within their own system more rapidly than non-drinkers.

the kicker? this isn't nesicarrily a good thing, excessive work done by the liver to combat the poisons that one has intaken and adding onto the overall functional tolerance that alcoholics develop for alcohol. Also, physical dependance is built on alcohol consumption.

    -------------

    Back to alcohol negatives!

Alcohol is primarily made of very tiny molecules that readily diffuse through the tissues (it diffuses through the stomach before even being digested) and as such it can get to wherever. Likewise causing it severe damage which is very unpredictable and widespread.

Alcohol is also a diuretic, tl;dr of that is it causes one to piss a lot. (This acutally is directly related to hangovers, in which the amount of water lost by the body is actually causing the blood supply to the brain to constrict and be reduced pulling on the nerves... which is extenstively painful. The brain has no nerves, but the circulatory definately does. A pumping hangover is actually the body trying to pump blood up there (which goes back down).... and is probably significantly moar painful likewise. Another downfall of alcohol is that is can cause hypothermia as it makes the body want to loose heat rapidly (eg: dialates the blood vessels in the skin (red faced drunks, right?))... potentially not the best thing to happen to a body that functions at its best at homeostasis.

Hangovers; Commonly can cause overall nauseousness, tremble, massive headaches, instability, cramps within the abdominal region, aggressiveness brought on by agitation (reduced power to the prefrontal cortex) and hallucinations (which can lead to a state called Delirium tremens, sometimes just called D.T.).

Overall: Alcohol has been shown over and over again to cause extensive damage to the entire body, but since I am particularily fond of the nervous sytem (obviously? XD) I'll use the case of a neuropsychological disorder called Korsakoff's syndrome: motor disfunction (can be as bad as parkinsons), sensory disturbances and overall memory loss (both short and long term). Cirrhosis of the liver is another thing anyone that drinks (even casually) can look forward to having, increased susceptability to stomach ulcers (seems to work in conjunction with H. Pylori bacteria seen in most peoples gut), pancreaitis and gastritis... overall I could spend a day typing out all the different disorders... but I won't.

So overall... in terms of drinking? It's not something I would suggest anyone to do. Honestly, I don't drink and never have myself... I think its revolting just based on the medical facts.

But not only that but it makes the most tactful of men and woman into pigs, has you defecate on your self-pride and throws you into a state of being unable to control yourself. If you are comforatable with just those basic social aspects of drinking... then thats fine.

So drinkers.... deserve exactly what they get. I'd actually suggest you to smoke Marijuana before you touch alcohol. But that would be another full-page of Dr. Aegis.
