    i looked over ur error message. it mentioned the aion.bin file, i know some people earlier tried fixing it by deleting the aion.bin file and then repairing, if DirectX doesnt help, try that next

    the modified items.pak removes client side restrictions on untradable items, letting u trade items that cant be traded on retail. id start with the 2.1 items.pak and if it doesnt work, go for the 2.0 one (works too)

    there r 2 locations it can go to
    Data\USA\Items and Data\Items, they say u should put the 2.1 items.pak in the usa folder but if u cant run the game after, it means u put it in the wrong place (it really depends on if ur aion client is EU or US id say)

    first of all BACKUP ur old items.pak so u wont have to repair if u cant run the game, u can just paste the old 1 back
    then try put it in 1 folder, if the game runs it should be fine and u should be able to trade, if it doesnt, put the old items.pak back and try put it in the other place

    modified system.ovr removes client side restrictions for flight zones allowing u to fly on maps other than what retail allows (however some maps r still no fly zones, turned off server side)

    u can either modify the system.ovr file urself, just edit in notepad and replace the contents with this

    -- [System-Configuration]
    -- add your settings to this file, not system.cfg

    g_chatlog = "1"
    log_IncludeTime = "1"
    log_Verbosity = "1"
    log_FileVerbosity = "1"
    g_open_aion_web = "0"
    g_save_preset = "1"
    g_auto_disconnect = "0"
    g_freefly = "1"
    ng_freefly = "1"

    1 = on, 0 = off, u want the freefly to be set to 1 ^^

    either that or u can download the installer in my 2.0 items.pak guide, i have the system.ovr there too

    the nice thing about aion is that u dont need to install it (ever)

    she should have the ncsoft launcher installed but thats all
    copy paste the entire aion folder over to her pc and link the aion.bin file in the ncsoft launcher (make sure hers is set to north america too)
    just run the ncsoft launcher on her pc, it will say she doesnt have aion so right click it on the left side, go to properties and browse for the aion.bin file. that way she can update/repair it in the future

    the only thing she might need to do is reinstall the gamez launcher (or create a new desktop shortcut herself)

    btw its better to turn off automatic updates in the ncsoft launcher because if retail aion updates, the new updates wont be supported here and u might have problems running the game

    u might wanna do it over an external harddrive coz aion is HUGE (nearly 17gb)

    it depends on how screwed up the repairs/updates get and if u installed it directly through ncsoft or downloaded it somewhere else as a zip file

    a lot of the times when u download the game elsewhere, it still redownloads a large portion of it and ur stuck with stuff u dont need :p when i checked in the past, mine were anywhere between 12-20gb (although previous versions were smaller)

    and yes update files take up a lot of the space too. the first is 10gb, i suggest u cut->paste it outside of aion folder. if ur aion still runs, its not requiered (if it doesnt, just paste it back where it was and itll work)
