As to the moon drifting away, it's said another 100,000 good years left before the moon is to far gone right? Isn't it possible in that time for humans to create something to push it closer to the earth again? The whole object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon thing comes in here, but I wonder how much force it would take to change the direction of the moon itself @.@

I absolutly think that in a that time humans could achieve a way to hold the moon in place... i am always thinking in a design of a world engine lol (to much scifi, i know).. but seriously. Right now human its only in the first stadium of thecnological advancement... means we are able to split an atom... but we are still not able to fuse one (nuclear fission and nuclear fusion). Second stadium is to be able to use the power of an star, and thus gravity. Third stadium is to handle the power of a star at will... the amount of energy required to hold in position something of the size of the moon, means we need to be in second stadium to do so.

well thinking over, I dont know if a 100.000 years is enought for that... maybe yes, maybe no.. an this is considering we wont kill each other in the next 200 or less years.

It'll be tough, but we've accomplished a lot so far in our existence, the biggest downfall being the dark ages which slowed down technological advancements for quite a bit of time, but we're slowly picking up as time goes on, and hopefully if we don't kill ourselves off, we can accomplish a lot more. I have faith in our species, despite everything, I hope we make it far lol.

Right now human populations exceeds in a 1.5 more the capabilities of earth to sustains us. Hope and wishes alone wont makes survive that long. To advance that far in thecnological advancement ro break free of the first stadium, many things have to happen to our own nature as a species. That will be the greastest trial of mankind, the dark ages where only an tiny example of what fanastism can do to our society... well thats a little off topic.

The moon will be there for a long time, we will be death by the time it has changed its size due to distance, to human eye perception.
And maybe a real space colony will be on build on the moon by then... and maybe we will have a real ion engine in a manned size spacecraft to reach mars in 4 months instead of 12 month with our current thecnology... (and maybe a gundam by then)
