Help me choose my class!!! :(((

Hi. After two weeks of playing, I have tried all possible classes in this game, but still didn't come up with the decision. I actually managed to narrow my decision at those three classes - Chanter, Cleric, or Gladiator.

I was trying a ranger now, but hate the survivability thing. As soon as I get stunned, I'm done. So what I'm looking is survivability, and solid dmg, to kill fast. My brother plays an assassin, so maybe I should choose either Chanter or Cleric, to support him as much as I can.

So, what to choose? As much as I like group PVPing, I'm mostly rifting, so what class is most suitable for this type of gameplay? I was thinking of chanter as he has several buffs, and a speedbuff aswell, which with 22% speed shoes and greater running scroll would result in faaast running around, possibly cathing the fleeing oponents faster. Also the stuns make pvping probably easier??

So, my question is - am I going to be ok with a chanter? Lot's of ppl say negative things bout them, hopefully they're just noobs at playing it, as I really like this chanter thing

In addition, how's squishiness with chanter? Hard/moderate/easy to kill? Don't count SM's in this question, as their fears are just unfair lol

I'm thanking in advance for all who will reply in this topic, hopefully bringing some nice information on them.

Btw: I don't see many chanters ingame either, are they bugged or something? Or just maybe not a popular class... ?

If I were you , I will choose Gladiator .

 

Chanters are ok imo, and if you like the gameplay, go for it.

 

wow, ty for quick response - am, one more thing, have in mind, that I have my brother assassin aswell, so playing a supportive class might aswell be a good idea.

Oh, one more thing - as I can see, everyone seems to have a gladiator lol. Can someone explain to me what's so magical about gladiator? Top players are also mostly gladis and rangers... -.- Seems like op classes?

 

I would say Chanter or Cleric...
The server is enough of Gladiators imo...

 

I aswell think, that gladis are waaay to much populated on this server. I don't really like playing an overpopulated class. Are gladis really that op, that every1 has to play them?

One more question for cleric vs chanter - as much as I've seen, single target healing isn't a problem with a chanter, so healing is not a problem for my decision. But, which class does a bigger dps?

 

Thats because both Gladiators and rangers got amazing brust damage, got aoe... and are fun at pvp.

Sorcs probably got better damage, but also die faster even that rangers, dont have hide, running skill...

Glads got nice defense and huge damage. Imo they lack flexibility and are a bit limited vs ranged opponents. They can go as tank, and they have some ranged attacks.

The problem with chanters (always in my oppinion) is the lack of brust damage. They got a lot of disables and have knockback chance like Gladiators, but less defense, compensated with moderate heals. They are the best on boosting a group, but not the best to keep people alive.

 

yes gladis are OP in ground battle and easier to play with...
Well depends on ur build, imo chanter has bigger dps, but Cleric has some painful nuke skills...

 

use a cleric, at amazing capability with just lvl50 gear, you could almost be as much invincible as a templar with best gears (not easily accomplished with the rest of the classes)

Ok, ty for your responses, will probably go for chanter, for additional buffs. Maybe I'll make a gladi in the future, just to check if it's really so OP as it looks like. Though I remember almost smashing a gladi in full abyss with my ranger, full anu set. Maybe he was noob, but looks like even gladis can be beaten ^^

So, rolling chanter for now, hope it pays off.

Btw Suzuri, I don't want a class with intention of healing a whole group. I need a class with good dps and support for my brother, who is an assassin. And as much as I've seen ingame, chanters with their hots don't seem to have much problems by keeping a single person alive... Though by that risking being killed on your own cos of not having the ability to heal yourself while healing somebody else.

Ty Razor for your opinion too, will check the cleric class too. I have both chanter and cleric ad lvl 55, will make some intensive comparisons ingame and then decide for the most optimal Tyvm

 

I suggest you go cleric, quite a big survivability, quite nice damage . With chanters since they are melee and no aoe, it's quite ahrd to get kills, but that's if you wanna go pvp

 

Yeah, my main reason to play on this server is to pvp around, cos it's fun. I also play on retail so this is a nice break from the stressful grind there

Anyway, rolling a cleric now, as I will probably gather a group for rifting, so will probably do better then going chanter.

Just tell me something - if glad has a powerful aoe, does this tactic work - you run into the middle of some zerg, while your zerg is fighting it, then burst out few aoes and then run back and slowly kill some ppl - theoretically, if your zerg wins the battle, you should actually get some pretty brutal amount of ap

 

Chanters are a great class...but they are not easy to learn....I'd make one and try...that is the only way to see if that class suits you or not (Thanks Snic ^^) xD Those who say that chanters are weak are just noobs..... BUT if you want to deal more damage really consider what 90% of this server plays....Glad! You'll have AoE attacks, moderate to high damage, heals and an easy class to play with! Clerics also absolutely rock..... So really you must see what suits your playing style the best!

 

The problem is that I like chanters as much as gladis so it's really hard to decide. I really like the playstyle of both, so it's kinda hard to decide. I don't like cleric so much but if it is so good in survivability and not so bad in dmg, then I could reconsider that option

I like chanters cos of the stuns and the ability to even make a stunlock. Together with at least a blinding godstone this class could rock IMO. Just want to hear some positive opinions about it, so I get a little bit of encouragement lol I'm definately not looking in pvping alone, at least a group of two, probably more, so I'm more looking in a class that can do a bit of everything

Edit: By "bit of everything" I mean, rooting, stunning, doing dmg, supporting other classes (of possible) etc.
