Need your opinions - Fate

So after quite a few things happening over the last few days, I started thinking.

I looked at what happened in archetypal terms, and was wondering if you people can give me your opinions on some questions.

Do you believe in fate? That everything happens for a reason? But even more specifically, do you believe that some people are placed on a path, and even if they make a few course deviations, in the end, life forces them back onto that path?

I'm starting to believe that, no matter what happens or how hard I try, I will eventually be back to square 1. Maybe I am overanalyzing every little thing that happens to me, I am only 19. But it seems to me that I can't seem to escape what is "fated" for me.

So what are your thoughts? Just on the general question itself about fate o.o.

Well god only knows our future (you could say , we are the masters of our own fates)
But if we knew our future , it wouldn't be out future cause we'd change alot of things
Now idk about fate... isn't fate similiar to future? Fate if i'm right is what is "written" as they say about us , what will happen in our life (so it's the same thing..)

So yes i believe in "fate" but i don't believe we will ever get to know it or change it

Of course we could also say: My fate says i will die in 60 years from a shark
Even if you try not to get close to water , you will die if it's "written" by a shark XD (someone will kidnap u and feed u to a shark pet he has in his aquarium) rofl..

 

The only thing certain about life is that you'll eventually die, everything else is just coincidence, or how you choose to make it, it has nothing to do with fate but how you perceive things that happen, that makes you believe it's fate.. you're in control of your own life, everything after that just makes you victim of circumstance.

 

Seems like my luck ran out then. Awful lot of coincidences also x.x.

Personally, i dont believe in God, Fate, Destiny, anything of the sorts, i believe life is what you make it, your choices and the choices of people around you effect what happens to you, i believe that every person is a diverse individual that differs from everyone else and there is no greater power deciding this person's fate

Fate's when something is set to happen in the future, regardless of what you do about it.

And I hate to think that way. I rather have the feeling that I'll be able to make things happen, cause I want it to happen, and worked for it, rather then have it be forced upon me. I honestly think 'fate' is made up by some crazy guy that got his life effed over, cause he led his life wrong. At least, that's how I wanna think of it, lol.

 

Meh I'm a deist so yeah. I don't know where I got the idea from. I probably watched too much Lost back then LOL.

 

I do think things happens for a reason... but if that reason is predestinated, I dont think so. Things happen for a choice made by us or others that affect our current life... going deeper, the choices made by others were somewhat influenced by what we do, and the impression we left in them, so they want to cross our lifes again... so the thing that just happened its a consequence of something we did. And eventually whatever you gonna do now will be the cause for something else that will affect you later on.

And remember you have a set of values and a way to be and act... so whatever you do its always in the frame of those traits... so your answer to certain events will follow a pattern... and so the consequences of it.

Probably if you are returning to the same square 1 over and over no matter what you do, maybe it is because you feel confortable in that square 1... is the place you know you can start moving again...

Good point. I don't want to do that. I don't want to, through some self-fulfilling prophecy, push myself into a place I dont want to be. Maybe I did overanalyze what happened and tried to justify it and shift blame and stuff.

 

i dont believe in fate. fate ruins the concept of free will and life is what you make it iono i just feel like if someone believes in fate.. he's afraid of expanding his horizons like his trapped in his own cell or something kinda hard to explain but yeah . . .

 

All that is true, but your future is dependant of the choices of others... and you cant control that. You might never get to where you want because of your own way to do things that cause a reaction in others that turns you back where you where in the beginning... and if you dont like that, you have to change the way you are doing things then.

 

Everything affects the other, it's an endless cycle. In the end it's just the way you are, I'd say.

Like the choice of another depends on how they think of you, is affected by how you make yourself out. As in, how you dress, how you are mentally, socially and everything. e.e; Not sure if make sense.

 

It does make sense... for a drastic change in what happens daily to you... to break free of cycle of choices and behaviors that leads you to the same place always... you have to change the reality in wich you are involved... the magnitude of that change dependes on you, and what you want...
