Just an idea for Siel's Dupe problems

Seeing how people are complaining recently about duped items, i was wondering if a few AM's from siel (we got plenty of them) could take their time to make a few alt accounts and pretend to sell specific items in the asmo and elyos trade channel, and just wait for a few offers to spamm your chat box, and inspect which ones seem a bit suspicious, im 100% sure dupers will fall right into your hands as youll see hundreds of godstones and enchant stones being offered. I used to do this same thing on a pserver for a different game i played on being a Gm, i would just go on my alt account and start spamming, and eventually dupers will fall right into your hands. Which you can then find their IP address ( it will prob be their alt accounts ) then match it to their main accounts IP address ( voila! u caught the beyotch ). I know you guys dont usually IP ban but in such cases i think it would be the best. Or just give them 1 warning, no more, if they repeat again, banhammer their arse. I know this will not get rid of the dupe problem but its a start... towards a free dupe server.

1. floods the race chat with even more trade adverts (as if we didnt have enough)
2. tricks people with fake trades that arent intended
3. wont work since u made it public anyways lol

anyways IP bans can be bypassed and dupers dont care since they trade the crap to their mains later. u need to fix the source of the problem which is the code they r exploiting

in any case, players report duped items and who sells them on the forums regularly when they see their stuff disappear. theres no need for AMs to waste their time with this

gold medals r ridiculously easy to get ever since the fort reclaiming bug like 4 months ago. elyos owned the entire abyss the whole time, reclaiming it each time it becomes vulnerable.

even be4 this duping became an issue again, every other elyos sold 300-500 gold medals on the forums. they were legit

 

Idea,dupe more guys,everyone should have a chance for good items not only the donators.Keep the good work up.

Errr , if you suspect a duper , take screenies and report it either on the forums or to an online GM .
They'll take care of it right away , either by banning the person or taking away all his/her duped items .

 

you can put the item to the trade box..then cancel so even after you relog..it wont dissaper

 

Well first of all what is one more trade spamm gonna do to that huge list of people spamming, + idc since i already have my trade channel closed, i just keep my legion/party chat. Second thats the whole point of this idea, to be tricky you dont even have to respond back to the people who /w you, you just have to inspect the offers and look which are suspicious. And third, thats actually a good thing them reading this post, next time they think of trying to make a trade, they will not know if its a GM alt or not.

might want to read what everybody else says here
the point is, there already is a better system in place that doesnt require u to increase the burden and annoyance on this server as ur plan. as u said, u already turned off ur race chat and ur telling people to flood it even more with trade spam (basically entirely killing the purpose of the chat).

think u watch too many detective/espionage movies, missing realism out of it. AMs have better things to do than spam the race chat with fake trades. ur more likely to trick honest players and waste the AMs time in the process

 

The best way is STILL to fix the code they are exploiting~

lolz yeah said that already. dupers will always make more accounts/chars so banning them constantly is just a waste of time overall

 

nways just an idea, 1 hr a day during peak hours wont really hurt anyone.

 

1hr a day during peak hours hurts the majority of people kinda why they call it peak hours lol. besides, duping is bug abuse they can do on any new char/account they create. banning them wont solve the issue, fixing the code will

 

I knew my last post was redundant but I was just stating the obvious. Maybe it can give Gamez Devs an idea how to deal and work around the problem~
