expanding the community forums

edit: since so many people here like to make people thinkkkkkk like crap, i think it would a nice idea to add this section ^____^ ~ <3

 

Okies, so here comes my suggestions ^^


You all know me so no need for introductiions here and I know this forum pretty well... So yeah, we can move to the point now


1)Hmm... let's see...

• Gamez Events Section

Short description: Bored of grinding? Tired of raids? Perhaps you need something to do, and that is where this section is for. Check for our latest in-game / forum events and get started for your chance at in-game prizes, medals & points!

• Events-Think-Tank

We are missing one section PURE for events only. Well yes, we got the Event-Think-Tank but as the name of it says, it's a section for suggestions only. We deserve to have at least now a section where there could be Events & events suggestions placed in different sub-sections =]


2) As other people stated, there should be a section for other games that the members of this community are playing~

• Community Forums
  
  • Freelancer's Enclave - Games Sandbox or Gaming Central

Short description: An area for the 'freelancers' within the community; those that are not playing any of our official games yet wish to remain under the Gamez banner. In here, you can share or recommend game titles and look for fellow community mates to play it with.


Then the section will have sub-sections with the games played by most players and the free space for new threads/ suggestions about other games

• League of Legends
  • (including short description + threads relative to the game)

• World of Warcraft
  • (including short description + threads relative to the game)

3) We got the Socialized Section but it's poor section because all it offers is the opportunity for the new-commers to share an intro about themselves. We could add another sub-section for those who are leaving the community, taking a break or returned. This way it will be more user-friendly and people will stop to use the General Discussion section for threads like those.

Short description: This section is specially made for our members. New-commer? share something with the community and make new friends. Also leaving for a while, returning from absence or resigning; it all goes here.​

• Socialized Section

Short description: New to the community / server ? post your introduction here !

• Members' Pictures thread

• Leave of Absence, Returns & Farewells

Short description: About to fall victim to real life commitments and want to share your last words before going for a bit? Maybe you are you returning from a journey to discover your inner self? Or thinking about leaving the guild? If you deem it important enough post it here to let us know.

4) And so we got the General Discussion section which is a total mess or at least it tend to become a mess at times with many threads that do not belong there. To begin with, it could be change the name to General Chit-Chat and be more user-friendly so people will get the point that this section is made for chill discussion about anything else than game ^^

Short description: Your day, the weather -- and probably alot more subjects you can think of. As you may have guessed, this section is for all your general talk with at least some sort of meaning.

5) Merging of Media, Designers Lounge in order to make a place full of art ^_^

• Community Forums
  • Creative Studio & Media Center
    

Short description: Bring out your inner artist; Screenshots, Pictures, Videos, Artwork, Signatures, Graphic Requests, Fanfics, Poems, Stories etc. Anything you made and want to share with the community.

• Media (Screenshots, Videos etc)

• Designers Lounge (Signatures/Avatars, Graphic Requests etc)

• Freestyle Art (Poetry, Stories, Sketchs etc)

6) Hot Spam, no many words coould be said here since all know what this section is made for. I suggest to rename it to Spammatorium (& OT) and put a better description for it than the one we got now:

The infamous Off-Topic sections makes an appearance on our board as well. To put it simple; anything that is within the guidelines but is not related to a 'real' subject goes here. Funny pics, videos, stories, forum games -- you catch the drift.


The point of those suggestions: is to make the forum more user-friendly than it is now. It's not bad to add a few more words in descriptions of the sections since we got members of different ages and some of them might be facing a forum for the first time. So instead of making the guides "How to use the forums" a descriptiion will be more than enough ^^

I think most are just taken back by the amount of structure but into your proposals. I am not very active in the forums here because I find it takes too much time to hunt for topics of interest to me, so this is a breath of fresh air imo.

 

Well, this forum is kinda chaotic at times because of poor organization of the sections (before Mods came, it was nightmare xD) and besides this community is not mature enough for 'strong' topics to discuss~
