It's a real eye-opener. And yeah... arguing with Tousen is not the best idea, atm. lol

 

Although I do not believe in a god, I do believe that religion is the companion of science. It tries to fill gaps and holes on questions that science cannot explain... yet. And the issue of how we are here depends on what you believe: creationism vs evolution. I ,myself, believe that we are just the product of coincidence and luck. There are still lots of things that needs explanations; right now, all we need is to either believe in our faith or in empirical evidences.

I think that everything is possible...

I cant try to explain something that is beyond my comprehension... if there are several things that seem to be easy and i cant explain... Why i should try to explain how everything was created?

People need to know everything... and when they dont have an answer... they try to explain using the simplest way possible... God...

I believe that religion is just a way of manipulating too... this is obivous...

War is man made
living animals are god made

because humans blessed with free will

imagine ppl with out free will do u think u will see any man get killed by another man,, no way

god trust us with free will that we mess used it so we r the here to blame not god ,,

dont hang the mistakes and the chooses "that god out of respect blessed u with" on him

and some times there r Questions that humans ask god for answer but do u think if u got the answer u will ever comprehend what it is

its like a kid asking his mother how i did born do u think if u explained every thing to this kid he will get it completely noway so no use of explaining in the first place this is too happening humans asking for stuff thy cant understand yet and god give them the answer step by step

 

There's a pretty interesting story in Mitch Albom's "Have a Little Faith" where a soldier asks a spiritual guider in the service "Why does God take away his loved one despite his constant praying?" I forgot the bit after that, so I'm not going to list it here to prevent bashing/flame.

Don't get me wrong, I love his books, but there's no way I'm going to associate myself with religions.

I grew up Catholic, but from the way the Church does things sometimes and how religion was pretty much shoved down my throat I stopped practicing. I could go on all day about this but I'm gonna keep it simple. I'd have to say that I have more of a Buddhist philosophy in that pretty much if you're good you get rewarded and if you're bad you get punished. Also I never heard of any Buddhists starting wars or killing innocents for their beliefs.

 

Even though I believe in God , it's still quite obvious that we're controlling our own lives & not some sort of supernatural being above ...

 

Messenger showed humans proofs that God is out there, but they hurt them and called them magicians.

and google is just a program created by a human. >.>

well good you do believe in Him , i don't , i can't believe in something that is supposed to "guide me and help me" when i get just the opposite.
And when i see all the pain of innocent people , all the sorrow in someone's eyes when a loved one has passed away by others hand....the e.g. could flow ...no need tho.

any proofs that those messengers ever existed (other than Dogmas)? any word written in ancient languages can be wrongly translated or misinterpreted (like "walking on the water" might actually be "walking near the water" etc...)

 

Seems like you've experienced quite a lot in your life already .
As for the fact that I believe in God , that is all about it , nothing else .
Used to go to church on every Saturdays at the age of 7-9 but it didn't offer me anything extra .
God never "listened" to my prays , never gave a single sign to me , so I basicly couldn't care less about its existence .

Which matters is that I have managed to get thru the worst happenings in my life so far without any serious consequences and as far as I will be able to handle these situations like this , I do not need any kind of God's assistance .

 

You can't say "I'm gay!" in a church.
But you can do so in a pagoda.

And I know the difference between god made and man made, or what you're thinking about. The point was entirely other: he said there's a reason for everything, so there should be a reason for those, too.
