Everything that needs to be asked is in this 5-minute-and-52-second clip.
What do you think? Should your loved ones pass away one day, and you seem to be the last one living.

    What would you do?

Continue to live on. They died, that's it, that can't just stop me from my goal...

It dependes on your goals... an objective is what makes all have some sense.

    What do I do...

well, firstly I keep my strength together, and try to accept that it was bound to happen, we're not immortal afterall.. this of course doesn't mean I wont be sad, I'll be completely heart broken. By this time in life, I hope the family made will be quite numerous, and that I could spend my time passing with them, as a reminder of the past, good times and the bad, and prepare myself for that same inevitable fate. There really is no moving on if you're to old, and I can't see myself with someone else at the point that'd be well past of course. It'd just be hard, and I hope that through death I do find them again, somewhere somehow.

    The whole subject just makes me think;

Same, Clannad is my all time favourite anime :D, because almost the same thing happened to me. I mean, the one I loved died, and all I could do was watch. But then, if you don't include your loved ones in your plans for the future, it would be much easier. Anyway, that's a happy ending after all. (The anime)

Death is devastating, really. Seeing that the people that you were really close with are not with you anymore probably gives you a feeling of having a huge barrier in front of you, a barrier that you somehow need to pass.
Everyone should find the strength to do that though and actually believe that they can do it, but it doesn't mean that you're gonna forget about them afterall. However, the warm feeling of love from the people you lost and the fact that you knew that they loved you too, makes you wanna try more<3
So I wouldn't quit on trying to suceed and reach my goal, I'd just find the strength to carry on and know that everyone would be proud of me if I did so:)

True true true. But not really because of their deaths, but you just have to move on, otherwise you'd lose your goal.

Well you can't really just say 'it'll be fine' and focus on your goal, cause it will never be fine. Actually, you're even gonna forget about your goal when someone passes away:p You're always gonna remember the people you lost and wish that they were here with you and support you, but moving on is a tough process and needs a lot of time to be completed.

It took me a week to get back to reality, but after that I just went for my goal, I only stopped a day every month to release my pain, that worked out pretty well. It's not their death that makes you stop, but you yourself.

I actually lost one of my relatives some time ago too, but a week? I would never get over it that soon. I don't know if it has to do with strength and emotions, I'm not a strong person afterall when it comes to controlling emotions. Maybe you're right, maybe sometimes crying about it makes it worse, but in my case, it needs a lot of time, sadly.

It depends, self influence and all those things. Would your relative ever want you to cry for him/her for too long? I don't think so. Also, you can't just stand still and do nothing.

I rather like the term steel yourelf... its not the first time you gonna lost someone, wont be the last... it always hurt. But maturity helps you move on--- One way that helps to move on, is to think that the person that just pass away never ever wnated for anyone close to him/her to suffer, and stop your life for it... i rather honor that feeling and unspoken wish of those that love me when they pass away.. and keep walking, never stop.

Yeah it's that thing I said about being strong and able to move on. Apparently, I'm not that strong.

Everyone is strong in their own way... i also crash and crumble from time to time... but part of our daily work is to put the pieces together.. and hope the pillars will resist more next time... :)

It's not part of our daily work, but more of something that you have to do from time to time. Think just as defragmenting your HDD. There's a time when you have to say: "I've suffered enough".

i really liked Deadlychants' saying: To live a life worth dying for
or whatever, idk, i cant remember, its been forever.

If my loved one died, then i'd really search a meaning for life because my LIFE just died.
My goal is to be with and love him
    My Life is him

..If he died, i will no longer have a goal, or life

Do you want to know why you are living at this moment? It's because you were born, that alone should be enough. At least it is for me.
