And public high schools are all so amazing? And college scholarships are so abundant? Let alone the fact that getting educated means very little nowadays. The narrative I gave in the OP is contradictory to what you are saying. In some places, just going to high school does nothing. Intercity schools are poor, their education standards are extremely low, and they are often the recruiting grounds for gangs. Like I said, for some people, there is no escape without help.

I personally refuse to believe in social Darwinism

If there is a single person that thinks the future is not cool, I'd seriously tell him to suicide. You're seeing only the empty side of the glass, there's always light at the end of the tunnel.

That's not at all what I'm saying. I'm just saying, for some people, they never get a choice to improve their conditions. And thats why I was motivated to help them.

And telling people to commit suicide, to take a cowardly way out, is disgusting to be honest. You have to deal with your issues and problems, not take drugs or drink or commit suicide to avoid them.

And yeah, there is always a silver lining, and there's always hope. Not everything that happens is bad, and I agree, there's light at the end of the tunnel. I switch between pessimism and optimism ;P.

Thats just your side of reality. There is people that truly and honestly thinks, and more importantely believes that they dont have a better future or a future at all to hold on to. Being Optimistic requires an enviromental support and to truly see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I can't help every single person. There's still quite a few that don't get as lucky.

Well, there really is no "winning" here. Unfortunately, what this implies is that society is a messed up place. And like its been established, there aren't many good people out there willing to try and fix it. And those who do, often get put down because good people often tend to get hurt a lot more than normal. Quite unfortunate.
