Better Technical/Community Support Team

I think carl and other ceo owners need to get a better system going here. People are having so many technical difficulties that they are quitting or getting very angry :devil: I mean get your stuff together and get things organized. People are getting stuck, loosing items, no updates, broken items, broken quests, broken forts, broken a lot of things. They don't have to fix everything at once! At least fix things on a consistent basis where people in the community can see that gamezaion is improving and it's worth to donate money to it and make it better." Not "oh donate to gamezaion as it breaks more and more every day, but please donate more money for this server."

Well that was my rant! If anyone else wants to add anything please do!

Hehe Also vote yes or no for carl and the higher ups to rethink, replan, and reinitalize there way of taking care of the server.

 

BTW I'm making this thread because I have a stuck problem and hopefully it is resolved soon. Thanks to Smartik1 and Tousen! I mean 2 people helping thousands maybe even hundreds of thousand of people fix problems is impossible!

the problem is that our devs volunteer, they arent paid, they arent professionals, they often dont really know what they r doing
once upon a time we had a few bugs, that grew with every new update since the updates were "lets see what happens". right now we r in a pretty messed up state with no dev around

carl wont hire a real dev coz he doesnt wanna spend any of that "hard earned" donations money he gets (even all of his staff is entirely made up of volunteers that do his job for no pay)

this is unlikely to change as new people come here and donate for gear without doing their research first. yeah there some who r also naive and donate to "make the server better" (they donate ridiculous amounts, more than a full gear set costs)

i feel sorry for them...

 

Not enough people are applying for dev, though, so there's very little to choose from. That's part of the problem.

 

I do too....I mean I don't see the point in donating hundreds on dollars to a private server. As I have only donated a max of 20 dollars or so to get items and have a better server "Every penny counts"...LOL

And thanks for telling people how it really is! I mean they need to post this up so that the community members can see that everything everyone does here is volunteer work! Even the devs! [which I did not know].

theres also the good old history of how he treated his devs in the past that makes nobody want to apply, besides the fact that they dont get paid

this is why we get people who dont have the skill and "experiment" on a server thats not their own ^^

@sky479 well the major upgrades between versions r mostly open source code taken from the aion lightning project. if u replace a whole lot of server files with code thats not ur own, the outcome is...unpredictable and u end up with lots of bugs that u might not know how to fix

 

Hrm...man I really didn't know that devs were not paid and on top of that mistreatment of a volunteer dev? Wow as a c++ novice programmer [computer engineer major] its not an easy job. I would especially not code for free unless it's for myself or someone I know well!

btw aion is java based never liked c++ much xD i do mostly C, (did java object oriented programming be4 but forgot most of it lol, its been a long time)

Wow really java based! Its really similar to C++ they are actually quite really similar. Can you link where the history of carl and the devs are? I'm pretty curious LOL...

To think that gamez is just a compiled server from multiple coders. What a mess!
