try run retail from the ncsoft launcher if that crashes too...

 

I did that, and it said I better update DirectX, so Im doing that. it must have been that I didn't download Directx right.
i think this might fix it.

 

it told a friend to update directx but i told him to get directx 9.0c coz thats what the game runs on and then it worked just fine

i guess it cant hurt to update urs but u still need to install 9.0c (and properly) coz its using its files

 

well, imma try this. and after this. I'll try and get 9.0c (if I can install it correctly)

nah from the symptoms as well as ncsoft message it has to be a directx issue

did a little googling and apparently it might run with directx 10 as well (even though its built on directx 9) but yeah, definitely wont run on dx 11 which is too new

vistas come with directx 10 preinstalled so u might wanna try updating directx 10 to the latest and see what happens
