I won't read the whole Thread, I'm too lazy, but here is my oppinion: As long as there they can't find anything bad about you without violating one's privacy it means that in society you act decent. It's not their bussiness to find out what you do in your private life, it should not concern them, it has nothing to do with the job you apply for. Also, if that's the only way they agree, I'd let them, but to do that only when I'm present to see where they search and why. If I feel that my privacy is violated, I'd just stop them. Also, that company is not the only one where you can get a job (well-paid I guess).

Either way they dont need my FB password for that. My profile itself should have all the info they need. They have no business getting my password and logging in as me with full access to my account along with any and all PRIVATE messages as well. That's just going too far and if a company is going to be that drastic then they better be literally offering me bags and bags of money to only do a little bit of work for like 2 or 3 hours a day or I'll just tell them to STFU and GTFO.

As long as you agree to that it's not called "violating privacy".

Agreed. There gonna have to ask you for your password anyhow. If you give it to them, then you've given them permission. Honestly, I'd give them my password to my facebook. Ive got nothing to hide, even if it is my personal life. I rather take a well paid job then stay unemployed.

Sure, for a well paid job I'd do that, even though I stopped using facebook. Can't they just use spies to spy on the possible employee?

I really don't know but while reading this topic, all i thought of is, it's not a good idea. I mean, working doesn't mean giving others the full access to our private lives. I mean, there are many ways to check someone's background and Facebook is just a social networking site that many are taking it seriously, some are not. It's really not about giving them away your password or what, but the whole point of the word privacy that all of us are trying to keep.

    /edit:
And including this matter as a job requirement, it's like you have to choose between, yourself, your privacy, a job? Agreeing to this will show them you are free to give it all out just for the sake of money. So you think with that, can they even trust you when a billion dollars will be laid in front of you for a simple hole in the company or something that you know? I think if I am the employer and this matter is what I call a lure, you'll fail.
