For 6 years I've been waiting for this game to be released, but it seems I have thought about not buying it because of Activision screwing it up. Aparently its going to be on a new Battle.net server that doesn't allow chat rooms, and custom maps you have to pay a little money to play, along with other little things you need to pay for.

This disappoints me to no extent if you have to pay just to play custom maps, and I assume making them will cost even more. Not to mention the other stuff in general that they're likely to make you pay for if they go along this road. Its happening with WoW retail too a bit but i still havent seen a problem with what they've done for WoW in terms of payment options etc.

Might be because they're thinking of making WoW free when Catalysm comes out

So I was browsing around today and guess what I find?

I know a flashy video doesn't really solve long-term issues of having to pay for things that should never need to be paid for after you already bought a pretty damn expensive game, but I can't say I didn't have a nerdgasm (and loregasm, for that matter) while watching this video. It kindof rekindled my desires to play SC2, and Blizzard's way of having pretty good advertisements and very enticing newsletter emails.

Personally I'll never pirate a copy, call me odd but I love Blizzard Entertainment and I have since I first started playing the original Starcraft in 1999 and branched out to the rest of the games. I'll always support their games even when some of their decisions I don't highly like, and as long as I'm a gamer I'm never going to pirate any of their games. But for now they'll have to be patient about getting my money as I'm not going to buy SC2 right off the bat.

They aren't Blizzard anymore ever since Activision came around.

Possibly, but I never really even noticed any problems with Activision (hell, I forgot the merger had even happened) until this was brought up. I guess Activision hasn't effected WoW all that much, from my perspective, but might influence SC2 and Diablo III a bit more. We'll see, either way with how much I love Blizzard it could be a tad bit hard for me to see them in a bad way even with Activision's potential changes.

Well it seems the above posts of mine are invalid except for the no chat rooms part...custom games remain free (for now...?) Turns out my source was invalid and just came to be skeptical rumors..should have known. On a side note, I'm having a blast with the game. To the challenges, the leagues, campaign, achievements, its all a blast.
