they were religious because they were forced to? Many scientists were executed as heretics by followers and servants of "omnibenevolent" God (read Church) just because they had their own opinion on things.

It's not because religious people lack intelligence or common sense. Religion is a belief system, based entirely upon faith. You can't argue against someone's faith using logic, reason or rational argument. Just impossible. As objective as you might make your own argument, they'll always resort to their faith system because...that's the nature of their religion. I guess...?

Does that relationship make you a total radical, unwilling to listen member of Christianity?

If not, we respect you and your beliefs.

    If yes, gtfo.

Yea, I agree. As long as they don't impose that on me, it's fine. If you do, I'll kill you.

    j/k :p

Well i think that mankind is in a process of evolution, and to keep mankind "sane"; we know that by nature our race is chaotic..., there are rules known as politics (law system civilization money system etc.) and religion all made by men, why?, well we dont know if there is a god and ppl must believe in something, i dont like religion nor politics, but that doesnt mean that i dont believe in anything nor that i will not listen to the ones that believes in any of our religions (why our, becouse we are a MANKIND and we share a world) i have an open mind, thats why, i do believe in something, but, is within myself, i dont need a bible or a church or to pray to my god in a certain time, i dont like money coz money changes ppl, but sadly is necessary, only for now.... well all that i can say is that god or whatever you like to call it/him/her lives within me.... idk if im making myself clear enough, i rly do hope so. And i believe that some day maybe in a couple of hundreds or thousands of years (if we survive to our world's changes) we are going to live in peace with a new system.... or maybe not.....

:p bye bye kisses to everyone <3

God (1 ultimate, most supreme being of the entire universe, Christian in origin) is different from gods ( many, may come from trees, lake, sea, etc., Pagan by origin )...

If there's no Creator (God), then where do you come from?.....would you consider yourself, an intelligent human being, coming from a leech, or anything that's crawled for millions of years on earth and then became you? If so, would like to be called a leech or anything of some sort? as this is the theory of evolution....well if you believe in the theory of evolution, then you might as well accept being called a SUCKER, or any insect defined as you, and not be intimidated... and to think in reality, everybody hates being called names...so to you who believe this theory of evolution, dont be intimidated...YOU ARE A SHIT, A FREAKIN MAGGOT and YOU BECAME A SHITHOLE OF A HUMAN.

    THANKS...LOL

Religion tweaks everything according to its needs, they gonna say something as long as that gives them enough i dunno power to name it somehow. But everyone and their bro thinks theirs is better (or just says its better cuz it'd get moar power or money or w/e) but all those that handle religion stuff are just people and they fail hard, they will never be objective and as long as that sht keeps that way (the lack of objectivity) it will never get any better. And just by saying you're an Atheist you're agreeing there's something to deny its existance. I believe there's a higher being (name it as you please i dont give a rat's ass) and thats it lol

Hmm, that was a lot of reading. Well I for one have to say I am a believer. But I think alot of people have misconceptions about that. I cant really say that religion explains much, but I think there are things about religion that needs explaining. I see alot of people say they cant believe in god because innocence suffer and bad things happen. Well thats kinda a funny way of thinking since it demands that if there is a god he has to be a nice guy. I atleast know that the old testament god is not a in Christianity is not in line with our new age soft mentality. I mean, he is like a Hispanic father, no carrot, just stick. And a big stick to.

As for the gaping scientific flaws in in my religion, like the earth being 6000 years old and such. I attribute that to the fact that the bible was written by a bunch of people who really just where not scientists. A book written by uneducated people is going to have mistakes. Simple. Oh right and one more thing.

There is a gaping problem with talking about Catholics or Jews or what ever. Think of it like a game of telephone. So take an omnipotent being and have him talk with a random person in the desert. Then have him write about that over a few months. Obviously everything isn't going to come out perfectly. Now give that writing to to a church, who has an agenda. I would call a church that annoying kid in class that changes the sentence in telephone just for a bit of entertainment.

And I wouldn't think about religion as comfort. Believing in religion is actually fairly depressing.

Fourthly I have to point oit some seriously flawed logic, Someone talked about child molestation in the church. Now I agree that churches are a bad addition to religion, but its the reason why you dont like them that bothers me. Up there with preists in taking advantage of children we have doctors and once removed relitives. So if I apply this logic, all then all doctors are evil, and all once removed relitives. Oh, minor officials are also high on the list, so them to. Really think that logic over. The only reason those seem special is because your seeing them through the mass media looking glass.

And sorry for the long post, 50 posts in and you have catching up to do.

I disagree on the statement that "we are born aetheist" or "infants are aetheist"...Infants do not have logic developed when they are born, so they dont got the brains to understand religion or atheism, whereas adults do have logic coz they have developed it. I mean, HOW CAN YOU BELIEVE IN SOMETHING YOU DONT EVEN UNDERSTAND? just becoz i am just newly born, doesnt mean i am an aetheist. To become an aethest or not, is to understand the principles in this world.

Guess what you're eating? Shit = fertilizers and plants = your food. I consider myself, an inteligent human being, a descendant of a small bacteria. So? Better to be made from "earth" or "nothing".

Sir, the evidence for the theory of evolution is quite strong. In fact, recent discoveries have proved that ancient apes WERE able to walk straight. I'd also like to point out that there is NO evidence AGAINST the theory of evolution, and actually a lot of science is based off of it. You can be ignorant, but from the the Scopes trial, it is very clear that you should not impose such an idiotic statement upon others. You are ditching logic just so you can try and make humans seem more important than they really are.

I ask you to read Ishmael were the jellyfish makes a very similar statement to you. It makes you wonder, why the hell do you think we are the most important animals in the world? The top of the food chain? The end all? I also ask you if you believe the Sun revolves around the Earth and not vice versa, because not believing in the theory of evolution for the reason you just stated is like believing the Earth is the center of the universe because it makes humans seem important, even though its pretty much established that they are not.

People in ancient times used religion to have some sort of CONTROL over the uncontrollable. Not only did "gods" explain nature, they allowed humans in forms of worship to believe they could control it. I ask you people to tell me why ANY OTHER GOD OTHER THAN YOURS DOES NOT EXIST. Once you do that, you might as well stop being Christian or Jewish or whatever religion you are.

Agreed. I can't see the theory of evolution proving wrong, logically speaking.

Politics, education and science are the latest religion, the system has changed but the game is still the same. Hence my signature.
