    I only really enjoyed the 90's anime. The latest ones are too cute for my taste, besides Death Note. You can list a few.

    24 season 1-5.

    Best thriller you can get in terms of a tv show.

    Lost seasons 1-6

    Seems like the show you'd like dealing with all the metaphysical topics you made and whatnot. Keep in mind you have to look at the show in layers. The plot is only a mechanism and sometimes disappoints.

    I'm looking at your sig, so I think you've seen Ghost in the Shell. It's Philosophical if you've read "The ghost in the machine" theory.

    Serial Experiments: Lain ---> came out in the late 90's, and I highly reccomend it. Wiki it to read a plot summary. Kinda philosophical too..

    Hellsing is just pure bloodlust. Rated R for a reason. It's about an organization that fights off demons, their main weapon being a vampire/demon.


    Cakebaker mentioned LOST. I'd reccomend that as well.
