I was wondering what people here think about euthanasia

Do you think it's acceptable?
If you were completely paralyzed and survived on IV feeds, would you want it done to you?
If you were completely paralyzed and in constant pain, would you want it done to you?

Yes, yes, and yes.

 

In those perspectives I'm pretty much already dead, I'd prefer it done to me. At least give me an ultimatum that I could not earn while living. Absolute freedom.

- Yes, cause I don't wanna be a "doll" in a big world. You need help with everything, can't even take a pee alone >.> I don't even wanna think about it, I lost an uncle with this. He was totally paralyzed, and it got worse and worse. He choosed for euthanasia, and every1 accepted that, and I am proud that he did, he sufferd long anough.

- Yes, Same reason as above.

- Yes, how hard it would be, if he/she wanted it, I would help him.

- No, he/she must be 100% sure of it.

 

so far nobody seems to be against it. what do u think about the other 2 questions? kinda interested how people would react when it comes to them doing it to someone else, possibly even without knowing if the other person wants it

Hmm, like if he's in coma? Hmm, I don't know, that's a realy difficult qeustion. I don't even wanna think about it either :S I hope I never have to make such a choise. I think it realy would be the condition he/she would be in.

 

I feel like, if its for medical reasons (not depression or anything) and chronic pain, and he wants to, he should be allowed to.

However, thats the qualification. Also, I would never make that decision for a relative. I would just keep them on the machine, but then again, money isn't a issue for us. I think that might be a consideration for other people. But that's what I would do. IF I was a doctor, and I hope to god I never become one, then I probs wouldn't even offer it though

It would depend on wheter or not you can use the bathroom by yourself as I personally think when you're so old and frail that you can't go to the bathroom by yourself then it may be time to go.

its not necessarily about old age. btw a lot of old people just sit around thinking about life. even when u cant move anymore u might be enjoying life, never know
