How the hell does aethertwisting work?

ok, can someone explain to me how aethertwisting works here? I was under the impression that if I have aethertwisting up and have a magical attack cast on me I would resist it. Are casts bugged with aethertwisting like they are for range? ie - if someone starts casting a spell on me and then I use aethertwisting while the spell is being cast, I still take damage.

That's what it seems like - and that's a bug that really should be fixed if this is the case.

If the timer on twisting was still up when spray hit then yea it's totally bugged and I wouldn't doubt if it was. If this be the case they need to make it a top priority to fix this skill considering it's the cause of the sin hide bug anyway.
EDIT: yea it resists magical attacks does nothing else period

 

Aethertwisting works only a few seconds..looking at your logs the flame spray hits you after the buff went out..

 

yea, I used aethertwisting and then 1 second later was hit with a cast (see the log above). Aethertwisting lasts for 8 seconds or 2 magical attacks, and I wasn't hit in between using aethertwisting and that flame spray. The sorc was casting flame spray when I used aethertwisting - however I'm still supposed to resist that.

 

I posted my log there (unedited) - and the flame spray hit me 1 second after I usedaethertwisting. It was up when I was hit.

 

Aethertwisting lasts 8 seconds.. Yeah its bugged...

 

Aaa, Falcon, you can't do it after 80% of the cast :\ It won't detect it then (that's how it works for AI skills and many others)... If, for example, the sorcerer did flame spray in like the 18th second you would resist it for sure..

 

I donno, I just tested it with call lightning and it work properly. I used Aethertwisting while call lightning was being casted and I resisted it. ... I don't know what is going on here.

and btw, the game is designed so you can use aethertwisting after the start of a cast and be able to resist it. The trigger to resist or not comes when the attack hits you, not when you start casting the skill - or at least it is supposed to be that way.
