i was here from july last year to somewhere around the end of november and i remember it being beautifully balanced. in fact, i was so impressed with the numbers coming from retail i had about 15 people come FROM retail just to see how massive the pvp scale was here. from what i see on ely side, there really are only a handful of people who still play, and who still pvp. again, asmos do just as much trade spamming if not more. just not as noticeable. you get me?

 

Well if Asmos and Elys spam trades and stuff just the same, then the only things left to consider is each side's eagerness to go and PvP/ take forts, or the number on each side, did I get it right?

 

you can do whatever you want to because this server is not even legal. not sure if you're aware of this but nc soft owns all rights to aion. you guys can do whatever you please with no repercussion because this is not a legitimate business. see why they call it donations? thats the only thing keeping carl out of jail is this server gets caught by nc soft.

Anyways, I wonder how you want elyos to go to battle when most of them are leveling? or don't have equips.
Try to do DP runs with a sniper/sin, people will say no, they want pro players or full equipped clerics to help

Yeah, tell a new player to the game to do all that, and when people is not willing to help either, the only way to succeed as I've been told in this server is to get dupped items, cheat, etc. While people who play fair will be screwed since they can't get good stuff alone

Second as for elyos strategies, they're bad. Why you people don't just invade asmodae cities with a massive group and kill all their npc's. I tried to do that with a 2 man army, it's impossible, but if you get a good bunch of elyos (+200) you might win something.

Third, not sure, but, again I heard from some sources, asmodians got some hidden bonuses in the code, not sure since Aionlightning is closed source, not that I care since that core is a piece of cr*p (who the f*ck would code something so important in java, use C or C++ instead of buggy java I - eat a lot of resources-).

@Carl, it's time for you to put your pants and start coding... Java isn't as hard as C and Assembly, so if you please come here and fix all the bugs, kthxbai.

 

I agree that Elyos are underwhelmed by the recent population of Asmodians, but its something we have to deal with. It happens in many games, even retail servers (especially on WoW). Thats the biggest downside to the now famous "faction" system that a lot of MMOs are doing nowadays, people will always naturally want to flock to one side or the other instead of have a pure, harmonious balance.

However, when you screenshot influence ratio, you're not saying much. Influence ratio percentage is based on how many forts and artifacts we own in the Abyss. If one good Elyos guild went out and worked for it, we could have 100% influence ratio on Elyos side, but you'd still see just as many zergs in Ingg because its not population.

While some might agree that restricting people from creating Asmodians is a good thing, its really just a terrible decision. Its possible to do as Autumn has stated, but its just kindof unethical, you could say. You might have someone that really wants to join Gamez to play with their Asmodian friends, or just someone that wants to join but they only ever play Asmodian because they dislike being an Elyos. You can't force someone to play something they don't want just because of a disbalance. If anything, Carl could provide incentives for going Elyos (I doubt he would) like a one-time reward given to people who can provide legitimate proof that they rolled an Elyos and have put effort into it. I doubt he'd do that, but its about the only thing you can do to try to offset the balance that wouldn't have a gigantic adverse affect on the server, such as causing new players to leave instantaneously because they can't make what they want.

 

eagerness is one thing, numbers is another. im 100% sure that people who come here dont do it to trade shit all day long. there is a bigger cause. no one is making any real money off this server but carl. no doubt there is some inside trading going on where people make money off items but since there's no proof of that we can just say that everyone trading all day is going for the bigger picture. to gear out there toon to be able to pvp.

at this point i believe its strictly a numbers war. and asmos have it at least 3:1

good point, but you and the other 15 people who are telling about influence ratio need to really read the entire thread before posting that because i already said i know it means nothing for numbers but it was just something to go with my post. i understand that could change as it is but its not going to be cause we are overwhelmed by asmo. its a fact.

Asmodian's Extinction (and how Elyos make things go bonkers again)​

 

I agree with Moot. Anyway, he's not talking about the INFLUENCE ratio, he is talking about Elyos:Asmo ratio. Right now i'd say there's 1:3 to elyos:asmo. Asmos are far too over rated.. but the way to resolve it isn't that we gotta stop them from making asmo chars, it's that we got to show that we're the better race <3. One time it was 3:1 to Elyos:Asmo, now it's the reverse. There will always be one race that stands out in population no matter what we do .

 

I'm fairly certain theres no "hidden code" to give bonuses to Asmodians, however some of their skills can make a large difference. For example, Boon of Quickness on asmodian sorcs serves as a near insta-gib if its not resisted. Elyos sorcs are good in their own way, but a lot of people prefer going Asmodian if they're going to roll a sorc just to be able to cast Glacial Shard and Flame Spray in the same second. Gladiators also have a much more powerful version of pressure wave or whatever, which in my experience hits for almost 200% as hard as the Elyos version, but I may just be seeing things.

Regardless, both races have their benefits but a lot of people see some Asmodian skills as being a lot better than the Elyos equivalents.

 

Or, you know, Gamez's devs might have intentionally done so (unless you're talking about retail's skills in this case).

As I've come to notice, why are all the drops attainable in-game on Elyos's side? The heck with that

 

Sorry, long post didn't really get to read most of the replies. I fully agree with you that we're outnumbered and it sucks though, I knew you had a point, just wasn't sure if you were really focusing on influence ratio as the proof. Anyway, I can't see much of a fair way to fix it, but its definitely an issue and its causing lots of Elyos to get fed up and quit.

 

The only intentional tweak I know of is the ABG bonuses and the chain set having crazy hidden bonuses for clerics.

 

You can add hidden bonuses to armors, but not to a faction, because they all use the same armor sets. Currently playing with hidden stats to make all orange class armor equivalent in power, but for different builds and play styles. It's going to produce interesting results with ABG being just as powerful as APP or Stormwing. Can buff taha weapons to be on a par with level 55 stuff even.

 

Make a guide that shows players how to make elyos look like asmo characters by digging into their files and moving some things here and there. Even that might not help.

Or you can give asmo stigmas to elyos considering how much better they are for pvp. I oringally made an asmo sorc for BOQ lol.
