Best starting armor for cleric

..ok as the topic states what's the best starting armor for clerics(besides Anuhart) Masta chain, MCD chain or what?

..oh and this is for pvp..

 

EAT/EGT (for pvp def) or masta (for mres) imo

lol, you can probably get a masta set for 1k these days - you wouldn't have a problem getting a masta set and weapon+ sheild with 1k vip

masta chain set and masta mace and shield is hard to get you need to have 2k credit or 3k credit for that

 

for hammer use masta/vielle (DO NOT use NHDE, wanna know why? the bonus stats of NHDE are not for magic, its for physical)

and for your shield, use masta too (6 slots)

 

you can easily get masta chain + hammer and shield with 1k vip , or 2k non vip (if there is an event shop)

nah, those stat bonus's are for melee classes, not casters. you'll want masta for a killing cleric. Attack and crit strike do nothing for a cleric.

 

EAT / EGT is great for if u going group pvp, but it gives lower amount of HP and Magic Resist. This is where Masta set is better, it gives more healing boost, Magic resist, HP, More phy def(MCD got more P.Def but lower stats on the rest). When it comes to weapon MCD/Masta will do but well again the 5% pvp def or 6% pvp dmg from pvp weapons are effective if u plan to go for kills.
So if you are a passive player that goes to keep your group alive i would go for Masta Set+weapons, If u plan to go for solo / killing type EAT/EGT can do the job.
Magic classes are most of the time your enemy because of the MR builds and high Macc.
So having both sets Masta with MR or EAT with block(or ABG with MR will do best) is best way.

I would advice MR build, if you are going for MB and you face Mresist enemy it gets useless, with MR you resist "most" of the melee classes there debuffs, also u wont be stunned/root what is effective.

Hmmmm I feel the need to interrupt a little here (maybe a day late lol ). If you plan on doing any pvp at all (and what else is there to do ), take a pvp set. 50e is better than mastarius, so is even 40e+10. You're a cleric and you need as much defense as possible and even though mastarius might seem flashy and cool, it's really not that good in pvp cause it has no pvp defense. A full 50e set gives you a direct 25% damage reduction from any player who doesn't have pvp attack. Turn this around: a fully pvp geared player has no trouble bursting through a pve geared player cause not only do they have around 25% dmg increase, they also have a 25% dmg decrease from the target that attacks him. Ofcourse in that situation it's full pvp geared player (armor + weapon + access) vs. no pvp geared player at all.

Furthermore, no gear on this server is bad gear, with that I refer to retail servers where eternal SW might be better than 30e, but even in that case it depends on the class and situation and a cleric should always pick that 30e set over the SW set (if that 30 set is full hp). A templar on the other hand can safely go for SW eternals (and not lvl 30 pvp) cause he'll never be a first target PLUS they have a lot of class specific shieldskills etc. But even for templars: 40e is better than Stormwing gear.
