A new Latency Fix Program

wowAcker is a very simple application that enables all windows users to improve they're ingame latency no matter how low they're current latency is. In my personal case my latency went down from the usual 280ms to 120ms, and just to be 100% clear, i did not invent this solution, I just developed a program that does all the work in a single click.


How it works

Many online games such as FPS games like Counter Strike use UDP to communicate with the server. UDP is a connectionless protocol which means no connection is established, but instead packets are sent back and forth and ASSUME the other side got them. In these types of games packet loss may be a *****, but latency should be as good as your hardware and connection can handle.

In games such as World of Warcraft, the protocol being using is TCP, which requires each packet to be ACK'd, or in other words, every packet sent must get a reply from the reciever saying he successfully got the packet. Unfortunately, microsoft developed and configured the tcpip driver to have a low priority/speed on sending acks which in return makes downloads very fast, but the upload is awful.

Solution: wowAcker modifies a flag that tells the tcpip driver to speed up the ACKs and therefore improves the upload drastically. In theory, you should see about your latency improve about 2 times what it was before no matter how high or how low it was.

Requirements: You must have .NET framework installed since the application was developed in c#

Important: This program has been tested by guild members on Windows XP and Vista, all other OS are not guranteed to work as intended.

Saftey: The program contains no trojans/viruses/worms or any harmful code of any kind. If you are extremely paranoid, download the source code and compile it yourself.

I use BattlePing... that really makes things faster ... ping reduces by half !

I think he meant to ask for the ping before and after you ran the software.

 

i installed it and with the combination of BP my latency ingame didnt inprove. Running Win 7 tho.

 

Mine improved from 400 to 210..it works tho..i think its for Windows Xp..and the link is for 32 Bit ONLY..its a 64 bit too..but its untested

 

Don't use BP at the same time, use only he's program

If it cuts my ping in half then i might aswell use BP. Does the same thing xD


EDIT: Without BP and only trhis active. my ping is around 200
without this and with BP on my ping is 130

still wanna test 64 bit version since i have 64 bit windows

For clarification, this is the same thing as leatrix.

Leatrix disables Nagle's Algorithm, which delays TCP packets and sends them in pairs to provide less packet loss.

Battleping is a PROXY SERVER which uses a direct connection to the gaming server.

EDIT: i think this prog dissconnect you sending the Error with the Improve Client stuff..dunno if its because of the lag..or because of the prog

 

64 bit version didnt improve anything. ill stick with bp xD

 

Haha..mine BP gives error when i try to open it..so thats why i dont use it ..
