Official Aion or Private?..

What will you choose to play Official or Private?..

Comment guys..and what you think are advantages and disadvantages?...:wink:

 

I do not have the time or patience for retail aion.

 

Official = Less Bugs , but you have to pay

Private = Bugs , Free

 

No time, patience or money for the official.

 

Retail = money + time(Time consuming and need hard work)
Private = Free + time(Not so time consuming but you also need hard work)

 

lets not start to actually compared between a private & retail [official] server, 'cause the comparison list will be a long & not fun to go through specially with all the lil'details

well, to be really simple i dont even have the patience nor to even want to spend my time in a medium rate server anymore, so basically.. i for one prefer to be in a private server [with a community] than retail that has millions of players to hang/gamble my possibilities

why? i think gaming is supposed to be considered as a hobby + semi-entertainment so i'd say.. time factors

 

retail is p2p so better go to p servers :3

Retail isn't a joke, also p-servers aren't jokes.

Both type of server got his positiv and negativ points.

Retail = no buggs, but p2p (but also a lot of nice things, challenge to get gear "you can't pretend its hard to get stuff on p-server")

P-server = free, buggs, a nice community (is also the same on retail) and its easyer to get stuff and you don't need to geek 1 month to get 55 xD

I never said psevers were a joke, but nice job adding an ass-kiss at your pathetic attempt to flame. Did it taste good? A little salty, I'll bet.

If you're going to say a positive point of retail is there are no bugs...you're just straight retarded. Retail is p2p, meaning not only are you paying to play, you're paying those developers to maintain the server. So your point of no bugs fails.

The reason retail fails? Every single aspect of that game is a grind. PvE, PvP and crafting. Everyone knows endgame PvE is a grind, its the case for every MMO available. Endgame PvP? Let's put aside the fact you have to go looking for PvP or wait for Dredgion. You gotta literally grind AP for months before you get a set decent enough to be able to hold your own. Crafting is ridiculous. Not only does it take forever to gather mats, if you don't proc a craft, its pretty much a waste of time.

So basically, retail Aion requires a tremendous amount of time, or maybe you'd prefer to have it be called "a challenge to yourself" to get anywhere of significance. Part of gaming development should be to incorporate a high replay value so all the players re-new their subscriptions. Grinding doesn't do that. Nor is it friendly to those casual gamers or "I-have-a-life-outside-MMO" players who don't spend more than a quarter of their day sitting infront of a computer.

But yeah, thanks for the laugh bro. Try flaming someone else, maybe you'll be successful

To answer your question if i played retail. Yes i did(would make 2 years the 21.09.2009), and my account is still activ until next monday.

Was I raging? Could've sworn all I did was validate my points while invalidating yours. Guess I made you feel stupid in the process because all you did in your response was try to explain how your flame wasn't a flame.

But to answer your question, yeah I played retail. I grinded to 50, realized I was spending more time grinding out some other portion of the game, and moved onto SC2 beta.

Oh by the way, it seems like you do care. Just sayin though.

 

Retail has a lot less bugs, a lot more players, all drops, and everything working. Private doesn't have that stuff but it's free and you don't have to grind for months and months to get to the fun stuff.

On topic : I'd choose retail , since if you work hard & get a decent set with weapons , you'll be raising out of the crowd ... it's not like 95% of retail players are running around in ABG/EAT .. whatsoever ...
On retail , if you sacrifice your time & you got some skills , you can be an outstanding & well-known PvP'er .. not just another folk running around in ABG & bugging or using double cast tricks etc ...

That's why ... retail > private ~ however ... Time & Money (Money is my reason for not playing on Retail anymore)

I offered my opinion to OP, you flamed my post questioning if I had played retail. I gave you more points to validate my opinions and invalidate yours. Not once did I state that what I was saying was fact.

Retail MMO's are all about who invests the most time and money into it sadly. There's nothing legit about retail or p-servers (although retail is worse). I know from playing enough MMO retail servers (specially Lineage 2) that retail is just not worth your time unless you plan on owning multiple computers, bots, exploits, possible hacking, ebaying, and buying gold.
