Forum Suggestion

With a lot of the spam lately, I think new accounts made on the forums should have a 2-3 hour no posting restriction outside of the reports section. This would also promote the use the PM and search funtions. I'm not sure if that's at all possible on here, but I think it would help cut down on the amount of QQ and server bombing..

'Cause I sure as hell know I only sign up on forums if I want to post something. Normally when I'm having technical issues. Having to wait a day to solve my problem I would just leave.

You could prompt them to use search before creating a topic. Like it could give an error and redirect you to the search. "Search before making a thread, noob" it could say xD

I think this is a great idea. Not only does it force new users to lurk on the forums for a period (so they get used to using features like search to find information they want, instead of making new topics) it can also reduce the ammount of spam and otherwise unwanted posts.

By imposing a grace period prior to posting privileges several things will happen:

1.) spam/unwanted posts will decrease a slight bit
2.) people will lurk, and get more used to the content and nature of our forums
3.) banned users will not be able to come back right after a ban with a new account and post away.

I am sure there are also other benefits to this idea, but before I ramble on too much I just want to state that I agree with this suggestion, and hope it gets implemented.

 

I think that moderators should consider that option

One thing you could do with it is on the homepage, suggest signing up for the forums while they download Aion, the download time is pretty long.. this way legitimate players won't have much of a wait.
