    Hi guys.
As you guys should know by now, my legion and I are rifters. During our, uh, "travels" in Eltnen (we're looking for good tea lol) we have noticed something:

The vast majority of elyos we run into, don't seem to know that there is a "language" barrier between the two races. That is to say, if an Elyos were to call an Asmodian a "Noob", it would show up as "Noob" on the Elyos's screen, but the Asmodian, due to the language barrier, would see the Elyos player saying "Hnny".

So, now that you all know that there is a language barrier in place, so that the two factions can not openly communicate, here are some tips:

1.) Although text might get jumbled and mixed up due to the barrier, certain symbols and numbers will not. so smiley faces that don't use letter characters (such as =) and :) or <3 ) are visible to the opposing faction.

2.) You can use the smileys described in bullet 1 to communicate primitive messages to your 'enemies'. For example, if you run across a lowbie, and dont wish to scare them away, because you're not going to waste the time to kill them, you can say "<3" and they'd see that you come in peace...hopefully lol.

3.) Communication is still possible. The easiest way to communicate actual text, is to open up a personal shop.

3a.) To open a personal shop, use the hotkey "Y".

    A window will pop up.

Open your inventory, and right click a useless item you dont care about.

That will put it up for sale. On the number pad (on screen) that pops up, click the "all" button, and then click ok.

The item will be set in the shop for the max price (so no one will actually buy it and close your shop).

Next, in the text box, at the bottom of your shop's item roster, type in what you want to communicate. It has limited length.

Then click the start button. Your character will open a shop, and your message will be in the shops title (which wont be scrambled due to language barrier).

You can then click the 'stop' button, and enter a new message.

4.) There is another method to communicate with the players of the opposite faction. Nya's Aion Translator.

4a.) Go to google, and do a search for "Nya's Aion Translator". It should be the first link.

Once you find it, follow the simple instructions on the page.

Type your message in the top box, and then click the translate button.

Your message will be translated to the other faction's language. Highlight and copy (ctrl + C) the newly translated text.

Go back in game, open your chat, and paste (ctrl + v OR shift + insert).

I hope this little "guide" is useful to everyone. Have a good night.

Long title- but useful post. In this server you can also whisper members of the opposite faction.

To everyone out there just as an FYI, whispers are also jumbled up by the language barrier so, you'll need to use a translator. Thanks for bringing this up, lol I totally forgot to mention whispers in my post.

You can also translate text. Not only that but doing this makes it dangerous for one faction as they can attack you while you have your shop up. We have a translator guide here on forums too.

    Wrong section btw.

I'm sure that guide is old and dusty and no one looks at it anymore :p

Also, my "guide", if you want to call it that tells players how to communicate without a translator via shop titles, which is not mentioned in the other guide you're referencing.

Also this isn't formally a guide, so this post is in the proper section.

Manually put all the letters you see from them into Nyas translator is one way, but it's really slow... so no real effective method lol :p

Well it contains a lot of information that is useful to people. After all, when I get angry PMs in game after decimating 20 people, I want to be able to read them w/o having to reverse translate :p
