So, if I update my current Aion client with the GamezAION private server update, would I still be able to play on the normal Aion servers using that same client?

OR, should I re-download the entire client onto a different partition on my computer and patch that one with the private server?

I ask because I do pay for Aion and am not willing to completely ditch my friends and my legion as of yet, but I'm bored while they are trying to 'fix' the servers and would like to play on this private server.

Thanks in advance for any answers!

(And I did try to do a thorough search in the forum for this question, but didn't come up with it. If there is another thread that answers my question, just post a link to it, please!)

personally i would redownload(reinstall) it and have 2 aions installed. I was playing 2 private servers until i realised that i liked this one quite well and just kinda ditched the old one :)

How do you have 2 Aion clients installed? I just tried to DL the one from GamezAion main page. It downloaded "Aion(2).exe", but when I clicked on that, it just opened the NCSoft Launcher that I already have downloaded and went to the Aion I already have installed. It doesn't give an option to install the Aion client again.

Do I need to install everything on the other partition, or is that not necessary?

Found this answer. But I'm just going to make a partition on my computer and install the 2nd client there.

(Thank you Windows 7 for not needing to redo my entire computer to make a partition)

Just make a copy on your hard drive. Copy the /program files/ncsoft/aion folder to say /program files/aion gamez and install the gamez launcher to the new folder. NCSoft will still point to the old folder and gamez launcher will point to the new and you can run both.
