I never played the Retail version of Aion, and I really do like Gamez... But I'm curious. People that moved from retail to Gamez, why do you came to Gamez? What is in retail that you don't like, etc?

    :annoyed:

Hi guys I'm here too waiting for the update :pinched:

Because Gamez doesn't cost $15 a month, although Carl will try to charge you $15 a month for VIP.

Retail was junk, It took 2 years to gear a toon out peroperly and once u did you were a god no matter what even if you were one of the worst players you could get a MCD set and rule 3/4's the server due to the gear gap on there. Its just full of idiots who think themselves awesome

hmmm...never played on retail but played on a retail like PS....its really hard getting a decent gear and took me days to level my char....though eternal, fable pve gear can be acquired through game...balanced pvp because of stigma system...there u can see expert pvpers....:rightful:

I came to Gamez because of time restriction, it's difficult to keep up on Retail when you have a Job and a Family to take care of.

I don't have to compete (Grind Fest and Legion Zerging Fest) daily in order to stay up there with my friends. It's more lay back than Retail, I get to experience all types of Character and different Setups with ease and I enjoy the vast amount of Flight Time ^^. <= This is the part I didn't like on Retail.

Well basically the hell leveling my toons was my issue is all. I have no other complaints about retail. Heck even now and then I still play it.

    Retail - time consuming =[
It gets better if you're willing to put the work in though.

The rifting buffs, it completely destroyed PvP, in Morheim/Eltnen the defending faction gets an 80% defence buff making PvP impossible.

also in Heiron/The other place. it was 40%

Those buffs were removed last year bro. Elt/Mor was brought down to 30 percent; and the Hei/Bel was abolished all together

Behind enemy lines event removes those home buffs.

Everything about retail is good, it's just the $15/month that I didn't want to pay anymore. Been playing it for 2 years. What I like best about it is how you can create twinks for low lvl pvping (aside from it being bug free and everything is working). And to the poster that said once you get so and so gear "you're god no matter what", that ain't true. That may be true here, but never in retail. Furthermore, the no stigma system in siel server is the reason why i went there; because you have that many more skills available, which makes it more fun, you have more diverse ways of dealing with certain situations.
Yes, grinding for the gear is time consuming, but it wasn't that bad in 2.0-2.1. Took me 3 weeks (doing the instance about 4-5 times/week) to get 4/5 pieces of SW gear, and this is with a glad in my static, which got 3/5 pieces (one of them being the body armor I needed). And once you own the gear you worked hard for, it makes it that much more satisfying to have it and show off with it.

I'm only playing here to kill time until d3 or blade&soul comes out.

    1) didn't feel like paying for bad luck in crafts, drops and rolls
    2) tired of getting ganked everytime I stepped a toe outside Hoarfrost.
    2) my friend was playing here.
    3) Gamez was the most advanced Aion private server at that time.

Played retail close to a year, decided it was time for a change. Tho the ganking didn't change much :w00t:
