    Even just a stroke in the right location can cause loss of functions... even spinal damage that is high enough (and get not above section C4 which would stop breathing functions) can cause similar things... but even then the cranial nerves are still working.

    Like a stroke in the pons of the brain will cause "locked in syndrome" I believe there was a movie called the butterfly and the ... urgh can't remember the name atm.

    Even the overkilled story of Phineas Gage (prolly spelt wrong) who got frontal lobe damage and had dramatic cognitive processing power damage and emotional alterations....

    The case of patient H.m. who had bilateral hippocampus removal (in hopes to relieve him of serious epilepsy)... forever living in the past and never moving forward... severe anterograde amnesia with an addition of retrograde amnesia...


    So many worse thigns than even that exist... thus why neuroscience and medicine focused on the treatment and pathology of the nervous system is so fascinating.... no organ in the body is as complex, as integral, or as delicate as the nervous system tissues. They govern who a person is...

    While I'm not saying any other disease is NOT sad... they all are heart-wrenching... neurological pathology won't even let you say goodbye. And that in itself is an injustice worth noting.


    Its actually very very true. My fiance is a (boring) cardiac surgeon... and he has to help me feel better every day and its helping me cope with the stress + everything else that accompanies it.

    Without him here I feel stressed and guilty about everything :S I've become reliant x_x and it sucks.

    People say "ooh doctor! money!" but they don't realize the commitment it takes, I love it to death and would do nothing else... but if I didn't love it and it wasn't for me? Money isn't worth it, I'd be better off to stock shelves.

    i suppose they have to put a hard shell on when talking to patients, behind closed doors.. they could be an emotional reck, end of the day we are only human.

    I would be if I had a laptop that could even get online...

    My m17x new laptop STILL hasnt arrived... my old one blew up so im on me 1gb of ram 36 gb harddrive and like non existant videoncard laptop... q-frigaking-q.

    With Canada-Day being tomorrow no way I'll see it till Monday.

    Yes, I want to shove my foot down Purolators metaphorical rump.

    why have you ordered an alienware laptop? nice though but non existent battery :) but your choice, btw aion doesn't require much graphical performance to run :)
