Shield Bug?

    I was testing how much dmg i would take while wearing a shield / sword and a great sword on my temp and noticed the Damage Reduction on the shield doesn't apply at all, so the damage taken wearing a shield is basically the same as wearing a great sword, can u guys take a look at it.

    in retail the damage reduction only goes once you get a block
    so /block whatever% dmg reduction for the next hit you take,
    it's not a full time thing.

    yeah i noticed that too, though i was lvl 43 when i found out.
    would be sweet if they fixed, cause you just can`t be a temp without.

    actually, before the 8/4/2010 update, the shield reduction works even without block. after that update, then it's gone and retail like now.

    it's because before it was fixed to retail like attitude, glads with shields are op.

    gladis with shields are still OP since shield defense is bugged. rangers cant do anything vs a good gladi in a shield...i mean u could auto attack good rangers to death, cleave amazing rangers to death, and actually have a pvp with the best ranger who will struggle to kill u.

    glads r OPed anyways, they have the dmg of a sorc with 15khp+ -_- and huge def

    yeah i have noticed that with my temp, it`s kinda hard to kill me but they manage to do it, but thats cause im no good at PVP, don`t really know how to do it:(

    they balance out offense with great reduction. so thus making them op. (i'm talking about shield wielding glads)

    A gladi with shield def and def prep up gets more block (+15 pvp any level elite shield with block stones) while getting the DPS and parry also higher. This is most noticeable in duels vs sins chanters and rangers.

    but im no good at pvp anyways im just plain hopeless XD i get to stressed up, but im sure all i need is training but i can`t exactly walk up to an elyos and ask to practice pvp XD

    im good at temp and still get hit over 5.5k from a glad... and i have a +15 set so yeah "tankers" cant really tank a glad
