Ok, I can't get the item.pak or system.ovr file to work...

Alrighty... So... I've tried this multiple times. I'm not sure if there is a trick to it, but I'm stumped.

Here goes.

So, when I install the item.pak and system.ovr file I get a "Failed to Initialize Game" error. I can install the system.ovr file and run the game, yet it doesn't work.

Yes, I downgraded... still get initialize error.

Not sure what to do. Anyone have the links/info I'd need and what order to do it in?

From 2.5.0.4 to 2.5.0.3.

Did you download the items pak (.xml files) from here? http://forum.gameznetwork.com/f64/working-2-5-item-pak-81050/
Once you do , you have to extract both .xml files into your C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\Data\USA\Items
People usually exctract to Aion\Data\Items instead of Aion\Data\USA\Items. Some of them don't even use the .xmls , they think they downloaded the wrong files lol. .xmls work as items.pak , oh and make sure you delete the already existing items.pak in that folder. (Usa\Items!)

@ Petromaniac -- I did DL them from there. Both versions, tbh. Tried them both, get an initialize error with both.

did u repair after downgrading? try it...

 

Uh i searched up on google about this problem and the only solution seems to be repairing ur client :S
Did you install your game from a DVD?? If you did , i guess u gotta delete it and install it through the NCSoft launcher.
If not , did you try repairing ur client with the NCSoft launcher? (With the File>Settings>Advanced>Region set to North America always)

 

When I repair after I downgrade, it upgrades me back to 2.5.0.4...

 

I mean, I can play... I just can't free fly... or trade items.

 

@ Petro---- I repaired my client like 30 times... and F re-downloading it. I'd rather play without flying. Hahahahahaha

Wait , were you able to play after downgrading? And the error appeared after installing the items.pak?

Gotcha. Also, I was able to play after downgrade. Just downgraded again WITH system.ovr, but I'm still not able to fly in eltnen/heiron/etc. I haven't tried the item.pak, cause I know it will screw it up. Item.pak is messing it up.

 

How's the status for Free Fly, I can't fly in Theo.:sad:

 

Actually , i got 2.5.0.3 and i can't fly there either. (Beluslan/Brusthonin for me , Heiron/Theobomos for you)

 

Are we ever going to get a fix for freefly in 2.5.0.4?
