Can I get some tips for becoming effective in PvP?

Hi there. What a sad player am I, being here for a year and never learning the art of PvP. Try as I may, I'm utterly useless in a fight. If anything, I'm just a distraction. I play an Asmo Sorc on Siel. If anyone can give me any sort of advice I'd really appreciate it.

anyways.. i'm sm err. i can't really help you but maybe it's gearwise? maybe you start with the wrong kinda skills?

How to properly defend myself. I can't even survive in a 1 on 1 fight. I know I have bad gears, but I'm unable to donate. As for skills, I can't seem to do much damage, even with my nuke spells. If anything, I want to learn how to survive long enough to regroup with others. As for skills, I start with either instant-cast attacks or debuffs to slow them down.

 

how can you not know how to pvp after a year of playing?
well you are a sorc, that means you'd want to stay at the back and nuke people to death and get the least aggro
there are various tips on every class on google.. i googled every kind of class i've played to get another perspective about it and imply it to this server
also - read what your skills do, what the cd is... build up a combo - this should be a piece of cake cuz you play a year

Read all of your skills, learn what they do exactly. Watch youtube pvp videos for your sorc and watch others and how they pvp. Get the right gear. Maybe sorc isnt for you? (try another class) Ask for advice from other sorcs on siel(dont be shy, its not stupid to ask for help and questions)

another thing about sorc i had a hard time with is...USE YOUR CC SKILLS!! tree - nuke some - sleep - nuke some - sleep strom - nuke if you dont have that great of damage. Learn how to run and use skills(kite)

But sorc is not for some people, some people are pro at it while others are like...what? this isnt for me.

 

Thank you. I guess I should stop fighting on the front lines then. I may have been here for a year, but I've only just begun to like PvP recently, so I'm not too sure what to do in situations where I need to fight against another player.

I've tried other classes, but Sorc is the one I feel the most comfortable with. I've tried asking others for help, but no one responds. I got one person to respond, but she ran away after I told her what gear I had. :\ (I'm using a mish-mosh or various parts I find in the Abyss plus Fenris pants)

As I said in an earlier post, it's a mish-mosh of various parts I found floating around in the Abyss plus Fenris leggings. I can't donate at the moment so that's out of the question. I spent about 3 hours today trying to farm Elder gear in the Core, but I kept getting ganked by a large group of high-ranked Elyos.

 

I didn't mean that, he said someone answered him and he told the guy what his set was and .. "it went nowhere good".

i keep telling people.. vote, just vote, the moment you hit 3.5k credits get vip and trade your overrated 2k vip credits to the duper who offers most stuff

also - when i get pwned by someone i always check my combat logs, checking critical hits, combos, chains, buffs, everything the opponent had used

 

1 year of gameplay and not once did you vote? D: THAT'S LIKE! IDK! *calculator* 36.5k (more cause of double credits per 2 days) credits gone! AH MA GAWD.

Anyway, that's how most people start off gear-wise, wait it out, get the credits, get some masta stuff and start from there.

As for sorcs, I'm starting with sorcs and I must say, after playing a ranger, I love it.
But I'm one of those people who likes to stay back. Maybe not you?

 

Always have pots/scrolls ready, make sure to not rush into zergs and well you should find good place where are solo asmos/elyos.

 

good gears = the best solution on pvp lol
