what does men live for?

so what's the meaning of life? why people work so hard to move in this life if ahead us lays death? why do we construct pyramids if we are gonna die? today my neighbor died with cancer. he was from a poor family, worked all his life to feed wife but suddenly he died. so here's my question: is the meaning of life to work and then loose everything?

 

for a life after this one? its only something that im thinking right now, dunno really, we will discover it

 

Reproduce to create offspring, care your offspring until you inevitably die, then they repeat the process. There's no greater meaning beyond that, and everything else is mostly fabricated by todays society.. the things you choose to do in your own life give it your own meaning, but in the grand scheme I don't believe there's any greater meaning, other than to just enjoy the little time you have, happily.

 

Everyone knows we're gonna die someday, does this mean we should all stop trying to do what we want to do cause in the end we'll die? Doesn't work that way.

 

Your mother brought you in this world. You have no other choice than live for the people who love you and for people who you love.

 

well im working dont know its hard or not, to me its not, im enjoying my work , and im kinda not calling it work. well i bought house,car, going to buy 1 more house bigger one. soon or later il will find a wife, il give whatever she will want, so im preparing . anyway you cant know when you gonna die, so need to enjoy everyday of it. even thought my childhood been hard , still no need to give up.

 

to live for those who you love, to protect them, to give them all the best from you. also leave a legacy when youre gone and so on. achieve your goals, the certainty of death is no reason to live this life without enjoying it nor getting the best from it, in fact, its because of that certainty of death that its best to live life to the fullest imo.

 

All you do is to keep humanity alive. Doing it for the good of your kids, who'll do it for the good of your grandkids. So...

life itself is a phase for each entity to experience good ways and bad ways.

 

You live to ensure that the next generation will survive.

Once they start wondering about the same thing you are now, you've almost finished your job.

 

Since we are still animals, we have a programing (instincts) in our structure that forces us to live and keep on living, and to make sure that we reproduce so our species thrives on the future... its that simple, everything else derivates from it, and we add our subjective perception that our emotions and feelings tell us... put that in the context of our current world, society and culture... and that means you have to work to feed, to dress, to socialize, etc, etc, etc... You are programed to "love" those close to you because that the way your kind will succed as a group.

Life after this? Not a chance... The repercution of how we lived our lives rest in the way we interact and how the perception of others about ourselves will make them remember us in the nexts generations.

Why that is an easy answer right now i work in during the weekdays i party and get drunk in the weekends :O this weekend im a go to the redlight district o.o and later on im going to afganistan sometime in about a year

 

To leave something behind for the next generations.

 

Then the next question is would you really want to live in this world forever?

 

To me we are put here for two reasons. The first obviously for the continuation of our species. The second so we can learn lessons in this life in order to either move on to your next life or whatever afterlife there may be.
