Guidance needed

So I`m thinking to reroll char from Asmodian to Elyos, cuz I seen Elyos zones and they look much better to have time in it, cuz Asmidan zones are so darky and less colorfull.
So I could use some assistance here since I`m new here. I`m on Lumiel, GamezAion.
So now I`ll start from begining as Elyos.

1. What would be best class to play as. I know that should be mine choice but I wanna hear from other players exp. which class would be most suitable for starter.

2. I wanna know,doing some quests is just losing of time cuz they give so little experience, what would be most easiest way to get leveled. I hate leveling.

3. What do you recommend me to do to get some nice gear (After I get levels).I know I have to do instances but which ones, I dont even know names, and I might get into some that aint neccesary.

4. Can somebody tell me some phrases used ingame, cuz I see alot of phrases and I dunno wth they mean

5. If somebody have some Legion on Elyos or Asmodian side , and whos willing to help newcomer, I`d be mostly gratefull. I know helping newcomers is pain in the ass, 5 years of playing WoW (GM/Dev/Admin) learnt me that lol.

Clerics always come in handy b/c people want to bring them along to instances so getting gear shouldnt be a problem if you play this class.
Personally I love doing quests to level so I dont have any advice as far as grinding goes b/c I dont like it.
You want Dark Poeta or DP for Anuhart and Beshmundir Temple for BT sets if at all possible.
There are a lot of phrases players use so if you list some maybe we could help you with that.
I'm not familiar with Lumiel so cant help you as far as legions go either.

 

hahas im from Lumiel too and im a Amosdians. had been on this server for 3 weeks, got not much experience but can help you out a little.

1. Hmm for starter I would recommend a Templar or Cleric. I start off with a Assasin and it's quite hard for me but after some experience and forums ppl helped me. Actually all class are quite easy here. just train it to 55 and you will get item slowly by going to Instances like : DP, LUT, UT, BT. You can follow this guide.

2. If you're a amosdian i would recommend you to follow this http://forum.gameznetwork.com/f64/levelling-asmo-3183/. It's very good and easy to lvl up. It's quite boring too for the beginning.

3. Try not to go for " DP " which gets you Anuhart " Class " set items. it's not so easy and waste alot of time. I would recommend for UT/LUT << both must do to get full set. It's call (Jotun) requires 2 parts and (Malika) requires 3 parts. By doing UT/LUT you can get all accessories and Armors. For weap try to join a legion and ask them whether wanna do DP Taha run. you will get a good weap from there.

4. Hmm I'm not so good at this too. can't help you ^^

5. My legion is just for friends in it. not much ppl, its around 8 i think. can't help you with it too. Dont worry you dont need to be pro to be in a legion. you can walk around towns and someone will invite you to their legion. Good luck ^^

Last of all this is what a guy told me when i just started.

Spiritmaster= can summon spirits and deal periodic damage to the enemies while making them unable to move or cast. Very low defense.
Sorcerer= can deal insane amounts of damage,sleep,root,transform enemies,can as well deal dmg to many people at the same time. Very low defense.

Assassin= Has the ability to hide and kill the enemies in the right timing,the damage is good if the gear is good,it can stun and destroy the enemies with quick attacks making them unable to react because of his godstones. Defense= low to normal.
Ranger= Can attack from far,sniping the enemies while they are busy trying to reach him. It can silence and stun and poison the enemies,the dmg is good enough and the defense same as the assassin's even though the HP is significantly lower.

Chanter= It can heal and it can buff,the buffs are very very powerful. Chanter uses a staff to stumble and stun the enemies,the damage is decent but combined with all the buffs and heals together with the high defense makes it very hard to kill.
Cleric= It can heal like a motherf*cker. It can cast spells from distance,the damage is big but the spells are slow,it also has many dots (periodic damage). The ability to heal itself together with some buffs and the high defense of he chain armor makes it hard to kill.

Gladiator= Wearing plate armor (highest defense,even though good chain armors can give more than a plate armor),the gladiator is the king of the battlefield,most people are gladiators,because the damage is as big as it gets and the defense is big as well. The gladiator has few heals,can hit many people at the same time and make them unable to react by stumbling them. Note,make sure you kill your enemy quickly cause it doesnt end well in a long battle with a priest for example.

Templars= Wearing plate set together with shield and mace,biggest defense. Cool dmg and few stuns. Some heals. Its good,but you need lots of practice to be able to pvp with a templar. Well geared templar can stand while a whole group is attacking it..

Wow =\= aion.You will find the skills are much different and assasins is going to screw your mind hehehe.I like ashtar and tainted's suggestion.My suggestion is to start with a most needed class when it comes to pve clerics or dps classes. And complete the set for needed classes. Then you can pick the next class you might want to try. As tainted said go with lut/ut gears, accessories and armors are way better but weapons go with tahabata in dp.

I think you'll really enjoy playing a cleric. Not only do they have some awesome healing skills but they can tank pretty well at times if you need them to. One of my favorite things was to see what bosses I could solo with my cleric. My friend Fervid once used his cleric to solo Bollvig.
