Yes, the people who do create private servers for us do in fact walk on a thin line. I remember once back on a Lineage 2 private server, I forgot what the name of it was called. However it was in the Top-3 best L2 private servers around or if not the best if I'm not mistaken with a consistent 3k+ players on it every day (the number was actually much greater per day, I'm just being very conservative here).

With that amount of players and money being generated to the creators of that private server, it was obvious that NcSoft would take notice. They soon threw down the hammer but also with the help of the FBI. The final verdict you say?

Simple. The place of where the private server location was raided with a warrant, everything taken, the server closed, but worst yet, they fined the creators of the server about $100+ dollars or more for each account ever created on that private server. So with 3k+ players on it every day you could imagine the cost total.

Even if it was just merely a $100 dollar fine, and if you their was only 3000 accounts, that would've been a $300,000 dollar fine. However to my memory the accounts created were in the ten of thousands which would've meant a fine easily exceeding 1 million dollars and more.

NcSoft has done this in the past before to other private servers that got to large, and if they do plan on doing this sometime again it would come as no surprise.

 

Can't afford 15 bucks a month?

 

I will go to retail and stop playing p servers if they:
1. Create new Sub-server with high rates (PvP Server)
2. Lower the monthly fee.

I've got something better to do with them. If I paid 15 bucks a month on all the games I want to play, I'd soon become bankrupt. But seriously, GW2 is a game that doesn't have a monthly fee, so... why should I pay for Aion?

 

people stoped playing retail, because of low drop rate, it takes about 1 month to get full anuhat set if u re lucky, no wonder people leave to get master in alchemy or other job takes even longer because of the master quests, the proc rate is awfull, and after rank 3 u loose so much AP... no wonder people leave

Tho it was a fun server(s) with 8 +k online players on all 4 servers he had.
