I was bored so I just looked at it again

Stats are taken from aiondatabase.com - Aion Database and might not represent the actual values in GamezAion.

MA & MB comparison for tomes and orbs:
Best MB mana stone you can get: +27 MB
Best MA mana stone you can get: +14 MA

In terms of effectiveness: 27 MB = 14 MA

Let's check the ABG tome + Taha tome fusion:
ABG base MA: 445
ABG bonus MA: +59
Taha bonus MA: +114
ABG base MB: 810
Taha bonus MB: +79
Taha fuse bonus MB: +77

Resulting in
MA: 445 + 59 + 114 = 618
MB: 810 + 79 + 77 = 966
Mana stone value: 618 / 14 + 966 / 27 = 79.92 mana stones

Now ABG jewel + Taha jewel:
ABG base MA: 405
Taha bonus MA: +57
ABG base MB: 850
ABG bonus MB: +82
Taha bonus MB: +158
Taha fuse bonus MB: +81

MA: 405 + 57 = 462
MB: 850 + 82 + 158 + 81 = 1171
Mana stone value: 462 / 14 + 1171 / 27 = 76.37 mana stones

Overall the tome is ~4 mana stones more effective than the orb when looking at MB & MA only.
As for MAcc, the differences are very noticeable:

ABG + Taha jewel = 462 MAcc
ABG + Taha tome = 618 MAcc

That's 156 more MAcc. That's another 15.6% (with the old formula) to hit a full MR cleric as SM.

Conclusion:
I'll always use tome as SM because that additional 16% chance is really needed against MR clerics and sorcs, but as a sorcerer you probably wouldn't care about the 4 mana stones you lose.

MAcc bonus: 57
MB bonus: 158
Fuse MB bonus: 81

Even worse than the Tahabata fusion (looking at MB and MA). lol

 

Considering you were all crying for the extra m.acc, look at the m.acc & decide what you are actually looking for.

First of all I haven't been crying about anything (quote please if you meant me) and the additional MAcc that comes from Mastarius is 4.
So the Tome has 152 more MAcc than ABG + Masta jewel.

 

I still don't quite understand why would people use ABG as primary weapon though.

 

They changed the ABG weapons this year so that ABG has the highest base values now.
At least on Lumiel, not sure about Siel.

 

Its their preference to use ABG weapons, now enough with the argument of which is better.
