DotA was originally made on Warcraft 3, not world of warcraft. Warcraft 3 was a one-time buy RTS game with highly customizable maps, a lot of people still play it because of that, and although "Age of Strife" type maps like DotA didn't originate within Warcraft 3, DotA and a lot of its clones did.

So if you're going to talk about DotA, do some research please and stop bashing games you know nothing about simply because the name has become popular. WoW is an MMO like Aion, DotA is not, DotA does not threaten Aion, Aion does not threaten DotA.

Anyway, what is the point of criticizing games anyway? People play what they like, and trust me, people are quite stubborn about what they like, so just enjoy the games you love, and let others enjoy theirs. Then we can all enjoy the friendship of each other instead of senseless bickering over what is going to provide competition for the game you dislike.

Enjoyed DotA and Aion both at the same time,as well as other MMOFPS and MMORPGs

When one critics another game,then the dude just goes "omg u're sayin tat cause u dun play well,fk ur game takes no skill while mine does" and everything starts from there

 

who's been bashing my DOTA? seriously Dota is a good game.. strategy, gameplay, pvp, owning, firstblood, Holy S**** rampage!!! it's the best strategy game i ever played.. who's the su ck er?/! i'll shadow raze his ass... but seriously why compare DOTA with AION.. they're of diff genres. so who's the stupid guy who did this?? BTW +1000 for the thread.

You could say about the same about Doom. Doom 3 was kind of a fail.

 

Really? Do a lot of people still play WC3 because I was thinking about buying it again (lost my old CDs). :x

I've already played it for like 2 years and I loved it, I wasn't asking how the game was, I was asking if a lot of people still played it. (Loved the custom games part, not ladder )

 

You can still play on Garena. I don't know how many play it nowadays, but there should be a handful at least.

 

Last time I checked on Garena there was like 5 people on WC3, thank god I was only using it to play l4d with 2 other friends LOL. :x I guess I'll just do a little research.

i didn't get the chance to play warcraft2 only warcraft3 and the frozen throne expansion, i thought wrcraft2 and 3 have the same gameplay, so they aren't? i was wrong then :lol: and about WOW, i haven't played the game cause it's just not my kind of game XD.. and they already say Aion is good so i didn't bother giving WOW a try.. but i don't wanna criticize a game that i know so very little of.

both are RTS as per TS and Dranny said. I'd agree with CounterTroll and Dranny on WC2 part. It was a very good game. however when WC3 came out. I was like "... shit" But hey, to each his/her own. Currently I get to see some Koreans still play WC3.

Currently waiting for D3 to come out and will play till my ****ing brains spill over.

 

The only interesting thing in D3 is the real money auction house. You can make money out of that game. But that's all.

O and in AIT there were around 16 ppl playing Warcraft together :3

 

Diablo 3 is a cheap copy of Diablo. I honestly think that by removing stat points, they ruined a good part of the game.

 

yeah i know dude, what i meant was if they have the same skill, graphics, terrains, maps, heroes, animations, etc... and missions too.. sorry if i didn't made it clear XD.. i like the story of how the war started and ended BTW.. BTW so you guys played diablo right? it was so damn good.. i love that game.. and i'm so gonna play diablo3

yeah they removed some of the basic part of an RPG.. you no longer need to buy potions too cause you can get HP from killed mobs.. and that's not really quite what i expected it to be. lot of things were change in D3 i like the old play style of the first one's better, but i'm still gonna play D3

 

So bottomline in regards to D3, going to play it till my brains ****ed up.
