Aethertapping >_<~~~~~~~!

Sweet Jesus. My friends and I reached the level cap on crystal and decided to start gearing up. It was nearly impossible to find a tank for DP/SW - so we decided it'd be best just to* craft our own gear while we work on ABG.

I started with handicrafting/tailoring/cooking/essencetapping - another friend dealt w/ weaponsmithing/alchemy/armorsmithing/aethertapping. When she first began collecting, she was surprised by a captcha code. Didn't think much of it... at first - such measures are taken against bots in every game. (Although that is the first time we've encountered one in Aion)

The problem is that *every single time* she attempted to collect, she had to type in a captcha code. It had to be the single most irritating anti-bot measure I've ever encountered. I attempted it, and was flabbergasted. It wasn't an easy captcha code either, misplacing a O with 0 resulted in failure. Some of the codes were indecipherable. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed.

Was there a bot epidemic on Aion? Seriously? How is having a captcha code pop up on *every single collect* promoting server security? It's unfair to the legitimate players. It's already hard enough to collect gear on Crystal, please give us the opportunity to craft our own without going through hell.

I like this server, there are only minor bugs and 2.5 looks beautiful. However, this captcha code serves no purpose other than to irritate players, especially on crystal.

 

I believe that the Gamez staff have already been addressed by this issue and says it is an Official NA Aion feature to, yes, block bots. As I remember it correctly, someone in the gamez staff said they don't know how to fix it yet ofc they are looking into it. I hope it does get fixed soon. I want to craft too.

 

i Know about that, but belive me its a great anti-bot measure, it can stress evryone who is collection yes, but sill help against botting

is in gamez too... The issue is not that the captcha does not work... happens that it works in every single gathering you attempt... is not 2 of 10 attemps or so... si 10 of 10. Thats the problem.

 

The main issue I'm having is on Lumiel, the captcha is not readable. It shows odd symbols instead of letters or numbers. Nothing on a keyboard anyway. Maybe if you draw runes on the screen with your finger...?

i was told to morph too, but isnt that turning aether you pull from vortexes into crafting items like iron? Or can you get iron and turn it into powder? Regardless, the captcha thing shows up when you essencetap too and the 2h ban blocks both aether and essence tapping.

if they will increase amount of the mats you can buy on the npc per day it will fix everything but seems like no one care.

 

The fix should be to reduce the effect of the human verification code when morphing aethers as the OA said and not mod the game so YOU can buy them wo trainning Aethertapping and wo actually gathering....

 

We forgot to remove it after 2.6, sorry. Will be removed with next update.
