Console

Has the console been disabled in 2.6 even through the .bat launcher?... i'm trying to use FOV ingame and can't bring it up.

anyone know how to activate it?

 

Console has been disabled since 2.5 if im not mistaken

 

yea i know, but i could still use it using the bat launcher.

 

Console was dissabled in 2.5.4+
If you were running 2.5.3 and the bat launcher you still had access to the console.
As of right now there are very few with people with working console on 2.6 XD

 

i was used to that custom camera view too

Actually, whatever you do to enable the console in 2.6, is against Gamez' rules, unfortunately. Y'all staffs should know that.

 

Not really. Since it was allowed before and isn't giving unfair advantages, it should be fine having it enabled. Somehow.

 

I just tried pressing PauseBreak, and nothing happens.

 

Actually you are very wrong, the console itself doesn't give you any kind of advantage over anyone and has always been allowed when it was available. And the "few people" that have it are staff anyway so...yeah.

 

So actually, if you modify a file such as system.cfg, or even use a third party program to enable it, it's not permitted.
Secondly, it indeed gives you certain advantage, for example:

e_game_slopeview - fundamental terrain advantage, I know where I can go, you have to try all ways.
g_nofall - placing kisks in the air? Trendy.
g_cammax - Oh my, you're out of my radar range, but I see you, so kewl!

Last but not least, g_freefly - in our case letting you pass through barriers gaining you yet another, terrain advantage.

You said it yourslef you may use it for the wrong reason but you are never allowed to.
The console itself being enabled does not give you the right to use it wrongfully.
Same with bugs and exploits they are there but it is against the rules to make use of them.

I don't see why theres even an argument here since its disabled and his question was simple.

So no there is nothing you can do to enable it only certain staff members have access to it and I think it'll stay that way.
