GamezAion Launcher has stopped working.. help?

I just downloaded the game Aion have never played it before and am looking to get on Gamez Aion. I followed the steps on the homepage.

When I click on the GamezAion Launcher is gives me the error "GamezAion Launcher has stopped working.."

I tried to open my NCsoft Launcher and that doesn't open period.

Any ideas?

Here's a start:

Make sure you run the launcher as an ADMIN if you're OS is 7/Vista.
Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework installed.
Make sure your AV isn't blocking the launcher/updater.
Make sure your Windows is updated.


And last time i checked, people download the Client VIA the NCSoft launcher, yet you said it doesn't open, contradicting.

NCsoft Launcher worked up until this point. I downloaded Aion via NCsoft Launcher. Then downloaded the GamezAion Launcher.

Now the Gamez one is giving me the error and the NCsoft one seems to not respond period when I click on it.


1. Running as admin gives the same error.

2. dotNetFx35Setup.exe for 3.5 Setup is not responding just like the NCsoft Launcher when I try and install. (I believe I only have .NET Framework 1.1 installed would this be the issue?)
I have ran games including: WoW, Crysis 2, Dead Island, Just Cause 2, with no issues.

3. AV > Norton has been configured to Allow both GamezAion Launcher, as well as NCsoft Launcher
.
4. System Updates were applied this morning.

 

Oh, surprised by how detailed your response is, well done.


The problem with the launchers could be an issue with them still working in the background, rebooting the machine would fix that.
Try disabling the AV, to be completely sure it's not it. ( there's many things i don't trust in this world, AV are pretty high@ the list)
The fact you still have .NET 1.1 seems strange, i highly advice you attempt to install 2.0 AT LEAST, and are you running on windows XP?

Attempt to use a .BAT file to log-in into gamezAion

Code:

1)Open notepad
2)Copy past this line:
start bin32\aion.bin -ip:69.167.179.118 -port:2106 -noauthgg -cc:1 -lang:eng -noweb
3)File->Save As-> Change "Save as type:" to "All files *.*" -> File Name = xxxxx.BAT (doesn't matter if higher or lower case) -> Save
4)Place @ the root of AION's directory, such as "X:\Aion".
5)Attempt to execute and log-in.
6)Report results.

This could also result from a possible file corruption (unlikely but a valid possibility) attempt to re-download the gamezAion launcher from the website.
