Templar Gear Question

Before I get started with my main question yes I did use the search but couldn't come up with anything fitting.

Basicly I've decided to start playing templar seriously and need some advice which is mainly concerning my first weapon I'm already aware that templar is an expensive class with the amount of sets and weapons needed. I use to play glad so I already have full abg plate/MR offset and full abg crit accessories, I have 1500 credits so I'm voting up for my first good weapon should I go with abg greatsword or abg mace? (I can get a shield by trading stuff).

Unless you are one of those noobs who would use a random shield/mace to use shieldburst then switch to Greatsword and use break power...

 

Lol no, I'm not basing my entire gameplay around break power it's not even the reason why I'm going to play the class. Since I'll only have 2000 credits to use soon I need to make the right decision.

 

I wouldn't yell out "MACE" that obviously...
But if you want to be a meatshield templar, then go that way. I prefer running around with greatsword though, since mostly I meet sorcs when I solo...

 

In a world where the Mace damage is nerfed (Or F. Up from the Physical Defense), Greatsword is a good option. Mace should work for Gladis and other Templars.

 

I'd sort of like to avoid the whole meat shield thing lol but I know templar is not a dps class but I'd at least like to kill something at some point.

Templars CAN kill anyone easily, sometimes they're just outlasting others (for example glads or opponent templars) but they actually got quite a fair dps, so don't be afraid of that.

 

What other Templar?

 

I've always prefered gs over mace but since I'm actually planning to make this my new main character I want to be as effective as possible with the items I have access to just confused as to which would benefit me most

Why mace over greatsword?

 

That makes completely no sense...
A mace without a good shield is like a dancer without legs...

 

1. Using Shield
Sword: Better Critical hit rate[50] and attack speed. Instead damage is lower. [Also no magic boost]
Mace[aka Warhammer]: Low Critical hit rate[10] and lower attack speed. Damage is higher.
2. Using Greatsword
ABG + masta/mcd/nhde....

 

Whole point of playing templar is to kill : Greatsword
Whole point of playing templar is to run through zergs or lure them to your friends : Shield only

 

I might have to go with greatsword first then mace since I can't afford a good shield at the same time, I could trade for one but it would take time. Thanks for all the input though.

They're a dps class, just a defense orientated. There is offense, defense and straight up nukers, all 3 of the same tree.

 

what's with the mace? is mace better than hammer?

 

If you're fighting another Templar. Anyway, Mace is really not a Gamez option, but a retail one. On Nazi Games, you don't use Mace, Mace uses you! Go greatsword.
