    That piece of shiiiit.

So, I've gotten my hands on TERA since Wednesday, tried it out for a wee bit.

Guess what? My card has been funny ever since.

On Saturday I tried out Aion, and it crashed (textures everywhere), so I took it out and de-dusted it. Seems to run fine until today.

I'd been playing Dragon Nest since noon, and it didn't mess up anymore, UNTIL I popped Aion on again.

The card suddenly went "ZWWH" when I alt-tabbed to the client, then it stopped when I tabbed to Chrome, and made the same noise again when I tabbed to the client. I turned on CCC, and voila, card was at 99 degrees when I ran Aion, despite activity level being only at 56%.

I guess the infamous legends about TERA are real. IT ****ING FRIES YOUR SHIT.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune, Lord Ghost. I shall heed your dire warnings if I ever decide to take the black that is TERA.

well a GPU shouldn't overheat/burn if the cooling system is placed fine, a game can only overload your GPU to it's maximum 100% but that shouldn't burn it..

TERA has been reported to fry shit up real bad D:

Well, mine was close to overheating, but it hasn't been fried yet. I guess I'm still lucky.

One of my friends participated in the CBT. His guild had 4 people who got their mobos and cards fried.

All I know is that after TERA my harddrive CONTINUOUSLY failed over and over... replaced many times and those were eaten apart after too.

..I still never even got the slighest little hiccup from playing that game.

Better off for everyone to not try their luck though if its reported to have negative impacts on certain builds. Won't be playing that again myself at least until its fixed up.

Going to note that I'm not going to never play the game again over this, its a decent scare but as long as they come out and fix it I'll personally still be happy, Starcraft 2 had an immense release and it still fried a crapton of cards when it first came out, without a proper frame limit in loading screens or something, but its still as popular as ever, not hated for the incident ;p

It just flared itself up (not literally) right as I was typing this out.

If they're going to redo the reportedly awful combat system, maybe.
If you want another MMO that fights like TERA, try out LOCO online. Graphics isn't that bad, but one wonders if you can actually have a non-lag 16-player game with that kind of graphics.
