    Good day!

I really don't want to make a discussion out of nowhere and probably this has been discussed way back but I am in need of a hand here so I made this thread anyway.

So, my sister asked me to make an Oratorical piece for her upcoming school presentation and as an eldest sister who won my own Oratorical pieces way back in High School and College I really felt so much pressure when she asked me. I think by saying that I don't need to explain why. I was pretty confident to accept the let's say challenge but when I heard what the theme is, I wanted to back out as I don't have much idea about it.

The fixed theme: I (you) am God's greatest gift to mankind.

At first I thought she was asking me what is the greatest gift of God to mankind. I wanted to say Freewill, Life, Love, and so on but when she explained the theme further, I became clouded. Maybe I don't know what my capabilities are to be God's greatest gift. I wanted to say, as a woman I am an instrument for repopulation but... That might probably just one of the aspects why I am God's greatest gift to mankind.

Now, let me ask you. Why do you think you're God's greatest gift to mankind?

I know some of you disagrees with the theme. We all have our own opinion about God's greatest gift to mankind but what can I say? My sister's teacher said that this is the theme, so I have to follow.

    * If ever I get much information and ideas I'll just put it altogether so don't make an Oratorical piece as reply, ok? That will surely be helpful but nothing to worry, I can handle the writing by myself. Right now, what I need is the idea.
** I am also asking those who believes in God only. To our Atheists, this is not a thread to debate so if you can't help me out, don't even bother replying. You're all welcome to reply though if you want to share your ideas (I'll surely be screwed if majority here are Atheist, meaning I can not get ideas if so)
*** If you haven't noticed yet, this thread is in Serious Discussion Section so sticking to the topic is a must. This is surely a wrong thread to troll even to start a flame. No off-topic posts or it will be deleted - worse is by receiving gifts from Staffs.
    **** READ BEFORE YOU POST!

    So.. Let the discussion begins!
    Thank you in advance.

Well i would suggest not going to the Human topic as all we do is kill and ruin things like the earth. I guess's the solar system and beyond would be the greatest gift as we have not yet found everything there is to be found. So i would say the greatest gift is the unknown and our curiosity as humans to explore and learn the unknown and harness the power of the elements. Also cake.

In my opinion, each of us are God's greatest gift to mankind because we all have something to learn from each other.

Also - stop spamming this thread ^^

This Oratorical theme is hard for me because just like you, I also have a different opinion about God's greatest gift to mankind. But as my sister said, the theme is about US being God's greatest gift so I can't change that. But you got a point. I might play with it a little and see what I can come up with.

Thank you very much Ashtar :)

And you're right. The world and the people in it which was created by God is the #1 teacher for each and everyone of us. Good point Ashtar <3 I will surely include that.

Here's a quote from Carl Sagan, hopefully it will make you realize how insignificant your life really is.

"From this distant vantage point, the Earth might not seem of any particular interest. But for us, it's different. Look again at that dot. That's here, that's home, that's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the ******* cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves.

The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.

It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known."

Damn! I can't help but to say this. Morons are simply not reading or reading but can not absorb what they are reading. Well, that's what makes them who they are! Yah sure, I am harsh saying this but...

I AM IN DESPERATE NEED AND I NEED SERIOUS ANSWERS! Answers that will help me and not waste my time! I don't care if some believes there's no God. This thread is not made for your beliefs, plenty of threads were made with such topic and this isn't it!! I have put a disclaimer and I couldn't care less, really if you believe there's a God or not! I am here to seek help and if you can't say something that will help me just close the window and say nothing at all! Some others might want to help me out you know!

Not all the threads in this forum requires reply from trolls, people who thinks they are the center of the universe and their opinion matters even they are off-topic. So please!!!!! Call me MAD, sure! But I need to make the Oratorical piece today and send it tonight and until now only the idea of Ashtar was the one I elaborated. Minimum of 300 words and it's not nice if in those 300 words I only explained the idea of Ashtar and my idea about repopulation... I need more!!!!!

And you might be calling me stupid making such discussion in this forum and can't handle trolls. Well if I tolerate morons/trolls in this forum then there's no place in this forum that we can have a serious discussion even in Serious Discussion section. Besides, I managed to ask some friends but they can't help me. So? Consider this a compliment.

    Hmm Greatest gift to mankind...
I, you and them is greatest gift of god to man because for me all of us is connected to each other whatever the race, the color and beliefs we all have. Connected because even though you didnt know a stranger there's a time that he/she will help you in times of trouble and great need. So the gift of god maybe is in the form of what you called friend. Confusing sometimes but I really believe that this gift is anything or anywhere when you badly need it. Just imo only, hope this is correct and help you Ue >_<

I am a gift to my parents and my parents are gifts to me. I am a gift to my friends and, I, a gift to them. They are gifts to their parents and their parents gift to them. Like bryne said we all are connected. Because all of us are children of GOD.

Yes you're also right Bryne. And Thank you very much! This is surely a big help! <3

Us, being able to help others when they are in need, serve to be their friend and as what Ashtar said, learn from each other is what makes us God's greatest gift. It all falls with the saying "No man is an island". We are a gift to each and everyone to interact with them, share with them whatever we can share so it can help them or teach them or both.

That is how I sum the ideas of the both of you :p Thanks! It makes sense and surely fits with the theme! :D

I'd say, God's greatest gift for US is emotions.
Everything we see, we concieve it via our feelings. The smell of a flower, the sunrise/sunset, the breeze of the wind, the newborn baby in its mother's hug, love, hate, rage, empathy (not like the "animal instincts")! Everything is EMOTIONS! And we're also gifted to be able to express those feelings. What's Ironic with emotions, is that even if you can find 1billions words to describe a feeling, nobody will ever understand EXACTLY how you're feeling. It's a pure individual matter. And that's it's "magic".

I know we have our own beliefs and opinions about God's greatest gift and thank you for sharing yours. But as I said, the theme I listed on the main post is the fixed theme meaning I have to write something about US being God's greatest gift to mankind, nothing else. But thank you very much for posting your idea :) It wont go to waste as I am planning to include some of your ideas on the piece.

But exactly, that's why we are god's greatest gift to mankind. Think what would happen to society without emotions: No fine arts, no literature, no poems, no music, no evolution.

I hope you have seen this movie called "Equilibrium", which takes place in the future, where ppl are emotionless. Watch the movie if you havent, then read my statement, and you'll understand clearly my point.

On the other hand, if you have seen the movie, but you dont remember what has happened, watch this:

    Movie: Equilibrium
    Song: Without Emotion
    Artist: Combichrist
    Genre: E.B.M / Industrial

Ok, now I get it. You're right, and my apology for not getting that idea faster. I was clouded and pretty pressured, I am thinking a lot about this Oratorical thing, it's starting to give me headache. I needed to call my mom and my High School teacher for help. And now I get what you meant as they also stated this thing as for the idea about it :) Thanks a lot!

Saying that made me want to include the fact that Humans are the highest form of his creation as we're made next to his image. And we are rational unlike animals.

though some humans acts very irrational and moronic. They don't even understand a simple thread!

PS: I haven't watched that movie, but I will check on it later :)

By the perspective of a belief in a creator system, which is based in the "good" potential that every created being is capable of. Much likely a gift from such things will be, how they can enrich each other lifes and how your life can make this a better place, appeling of course to the qualities that make each and every one of us different and "good" by nature of the creator, which in theory those beings are made as his own image.

    Hope this helps...

I'm a bit too lazy today to state my opinions regarding this, well, I'll make it short. I've done a thread with Unicorns. Why was it deleted? It's the same reality as god after all. Well?
