Sure its like that, but only if you allow it... I have a very close case of what being different is and is not the end of the world. He had Poliomelitis when he was a kid (5 years old) he lost muscular function in 60% of his body rendering completely different, unable to walk straight and weaker as a small kid... he was bullied? yes.. He was discriminated? Yes... What he is now? He owns his own business and makes alot of money and people has to come to him to ask favors and the such... The first person that needs to have sympathy of yourself, is YOU!!! If you get in a damn corner to cry like a baby asking for salvation... you ll get none, better stab yourself quickly and swiftly... This society is making people everyday more and more weak... everyone just sits there blaming the rest and doing nothing for themselves. You want love? ****ing love yourself first.. You want respect?? Respect yourself first.. stand in your own 2 feet, spit the blood and keep walking.

I am not angry, but its like instead of helping people to improve, we pat their backs feling sorry for them... Thats not help, its just screw them harder.

Oh I agree, I am one of those people that grabbed life by the balls and is just ripping it to get what I want.

However you must realize that society is significantly more sympathetic with someone who has a disorder like you just described.

Homosexuality? It was considered a disorder before, thankfully not anymore, in the DSM.

But you don't see people make reference to "oh your gay" -> assume you are a tranny, want to be one, etc.

Then you have people think you have a brain dysfunction, which makes me rofl now I know so much @_@.

Nor do you have movies like silence of the lambs that are continuously referenced to bash someone.

I'm not disputing the disorder you just described is destructive... but you must realize that is more physical and its more a limitation between a person and objects.

However? Homosexuality you maintain physical integrity, but you have a massive inhibition of human-human interaction that is healthy. Which often, thanks to society, has resulted in many deaths.

Don't forget, some people do commit well... the crime to themselves (which is downright wrong), but many times (and sadly its become so frequent it is unreported) it is inflicted by society. Genocides going around the world in countries where pastors speak of "eating da poo poo", constant beat-ups throughout North America, protests saying god-hates fags (last time I checked, that is a terribly mistaken phrase they use), etc.

Now if someone beat up a person with a physical disorder you just described? The news would be all over it... shame on those who did it! Shame on them!

It would be an atrocity honestly.

Speaking as a gay man, I would choose your friends position over mine. Pretty confident 90% of the time. I don't expect you to understand why, but its my true feelings on the issue. I may be successful now, and most importantly happy, but everyone who is gay has had to go through the pre-pubescent bullshit that continues even into undergrad.

I understand you perfectly... I have a transexual friend for you to know, and she is more a decent person than most of the "normal" crap that you find in the street everyday, but she stands on his own feet without asking for pity... and for that I support her from here to hell if needed. But I still insist that even though society plays a big factor of guilt in what is going right now with homosexuality for instance, its almost always used for the same people as to excuse themselves of why not to fight or just stand... Maybe you cant "choose" to be an homosexual or not, or many other differences that just come to you "just because", but you can choose how to face them... and all I see, is them feeling sorry and crying and saying something about tears, tears, tears or asking other to feel sorry for them. You are a doctor, right? You know then that to save someone, that someone must desire to be saved... must be fighting for that.

    Agreed of course :3

And in terms of saving someone.... comatose works XD

But overall depression is a bit of a helpless situation. Because sometimes you can give them the medication to make them feel better and, infact, it may work! Work so well it gives them enough strength to finally go through with it... @_@

I myself don't usually deal with that considering how I am a neurosurgeon (student, want to be the full thing... that is SO many years away T_T).
