error launching aion

everytime i launch aion this error appears


CRITICAL ERROR: Error loading DLL: Game.dll error code 14001, The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail

this one isnt related to the game itself but to windows files. installing all windows updates should fix this. if it doesnt, try update the graphics driver too. i really dislike when people suggest this but retail aion people fixed it by formatting anyway windows updates should do the trick, good luck

edit: some1 also said that uninstalling a recent program helped since that was the one screwing up the configuration, in his case it was "corel word perfect" but u might wanna take a look at the latest programs you installed and see if removing them fixes it (if you know when this started happening)

 

this started when i was updating windows then someone pull the plug of my pc.. i tried system restore and updated my video card driver didnt work and yeah i dnt want reformatting my pc.. atm windows is dloading updates and im still crossing my fingers this works il update the thread later..

 

lol could have said that earlier, yea it means that some system file got corrupted during windows update installation and aion wont run coz of it. system restore will restore the correct files and another windows update will update them correctly so yeah dont worry
